The Cosgrove family’s love for Frankfort began when they moved here in the mid-1970s. They were immediately captivated by the historic charm of Downtown Frankfort, a sentiment that resonates with all who experience it. In 2017, the Cosgrove family united with a singular vision: to create a unique and inviting ambiance that would stand out in the community. Their goal was to craft the finest brewed beer in the region, a destination where one could enjoy a few drinks, a family dinner, or both. The atmosphere they have cultivated continues to flourish, and we are excited to share their dream with you. We invite you to visit Trails Edge, experience what captivates you, and become a cherished member of our family.

Service was extremely friendly and attentive. We sat outside on the patio for dinner and tables were clean. Cheese curds for an appetizer but for $14 we hoped for something better than frozen, you can get the same thing at culvers for $4. Turkey BLT wrap and burger for $16 each but average at best, not moist and tender, abit disappointing. Was hoping for better quality food for the price.

I have had my book club meets here which was a nice.
Today, however, I went to lunch with a friend. There are so many great choices.
I selected a golden beet salad and added salmon. It was delicious, I ate every bite. The dressing was on thr dide and a wonderful citrus flavor.
With a salad I would have loved to have been able to add a roll or bread with butter. I would have been happy to pay extra. Just something to think about.
I ordered an iced tea which was superb, fresh with an extra glass of ice on the side. It was crisp and refreshing.

I really wanted to rate this place fairly high but the food here was a bit imbalanced and Ill explain in a bit more detail. However, I did like the setup and its located in the historic area of Frankfort on the main food drag. Its picturesque and has a modern facade but the interior is darker and cross between farmhouse/diner/pub style.
Being that it was early dinner; there was an over-abundance of staff, possibly needed for an anticipated evening rush. Just odd they crowded the entrance/exit way. The service was fine but rather aloof. Nonetheless, it’s the food that I am here to try.
Started with the jambalaya. Now I am quite worldly and have travelled to 5 of the 7 continents and many places in the USA; and I know excellent jambalaya. This was better than average. There was really good heat, nice chunks of andouille sausage and surprisingly 4 nicely sized shrimp. Very tasty serving but needed a bit more rice cause there was very little, which made it a bit out of balance without carbs. Also, it was to be served with a side of bread which I never received.
I rarely overeat and portions are fairly large so I was pleased to see blacked sea scallops as an appetizer and it promised to be a good portion (its listed as U10). Of the 3 scallops, one was sorely too small. Visually, it should have been equal-sized, like the many places I have been to in many large cities from NYC to Miami; LA and back to Chicago. I am just saying that if you state a specific size of scallops, is it too much to have them all sized evenly. But the sear was excellent and the taste was wonderful on the larger scallops. It paired well with the lemon beurre blanc. The chimichurri was more of a paste and not the usual liquidy olive oil based sauce.
Overall, the experience was good.

I held a party for my business this weekend in the downstairs party room at Trail’s Edge. Jackie was fantastic helping get all the details how I wanted them and she and Katie were there for the whole event, Katie bartending and serving and both making sure everything went smoothly. Food was great, atmosphere perfect, service fantastic. Will be back next year!

The sweet potato fries are a little strange with the sugar seasoning on them. I wish it was optional. And the marshmallow sauce stuff that they give you is weird. I really liked the Mac and cheese and the burger was good. The scallops are also really good. Loved the beer!

Stopped in for a quick drink and had a really great time and will definitely be back soon. Service was fast and friendly and I was told they made the best cosmo ever, so that’s high praise. The bar can get pretty cramped pretty quickly, but the seating area around it is nice and comfy and the entire space is very nice, warm, and welcoming.

First time here on a Friday night for dinner, it was a lovely evening so we sat outside. The service was good and I ordered a derailer to start, it was very good. Got. Starter- Ole fries- was good. I ordered the Kansas st. Steak sandwich and it was good the sweet potato fries dusted with maple brown sugar were way too sweet for me I couldn’t eat them. Sean got the brisket grill cheese with fried Russell sprouts. Also the little sliders I was told were good. I will be back and highly recommend. This is in lovely downtown Frankfort.

Great place to host an event. We had my daughter’s bridal shower here in July and Jackie and her team were amazing. The room is beautiful! We had brunch and the food was amazing. Our server Katy did a fantastic job taking care of everything the day of. Jackie was so helpful planning and organizing the event. Very easy to work with. If you are looking to host a shower, rehearsal dinner, birthday party, etc. this is the place!

I have been here several times and have had a great experience each time. I really like the flatbread pizza. It was fresh and had a ton of flavor. I’ve also had the brisket grilled cheese with sweet potato fries, really good and the perfect balance of salty and sweet. The brisket was tender and a great addition in an otherwise traditional sandwich. The blueberry wheat beer is really good, just the right amount of blueberry goodness. Yum!
