We ate 2 nights in a row there while on a mini vacation…. We loved everything. Great atmosphere, beautiful decor, great drinks (try the fall special McIntosh Old Fashioned), friendly staff and amazing food. They have a raw bar Wednesday/Thursday and we had the Lobster escargot and it was just amazing. And the mussels are great as well. Hope to be able to visit sometime again.

Wonderful restaurant in Brunswick! The food was excellent. Great warm and comfortable atmosphere. My companion and I both had a pork tenderloin that was marinated and grilled just right. It had a puree of sweet potato that was delicious. There were also bacony smoked collard greens that were excellent! Our server was obviously new. She was nervous and it took a while for us to get a drink in the beginning. We were relaxing and talking so it wasn’t a big issue. There was also a delay in our entrees at which time the chef sent us a green salad for waiting. The salad was good, a nice vinaigrette. It was garnished with a piece of bruschetta that had a most delicious lemony goat cheese spread. That was a nice surprise. Dessert was good, a little too much sugar on top. It was tough to break through. Overall it was a nice evening and I will return. Recommend to anyone.

Disappointed in the food at my most recent visit to 555. We’ve always had great tasting food and good menu options, but not our most recent visit. With only 6 dinner options, including a lobster roll and a duck flatbread pizza, there wasn’t much to choose from. Did not like the duck that my wife got, and the steak frites that I got were way below expectations for a $35 meal. The fries were shoe string size which was unexpected and was served with aioli and ketchup on the side along with the steak on the side cooked medium well. If I wanted McDonald fries with a $10 steak, I could’ve stayed home. I just feel like my money was wasted on this night out with friends. The service was great and the table was provided a round of champagne for my wife’s birthday which was a nice gesture. Will lean towards noble or ram and bull for my next dinner out or go to Sicilian table for the same price. 555 must do better with the menu going forward or risk losing more business.
Update: I’m updating this review from 2 to 4 stars as a result of the manager refunding my previous bill. There was some confusion on which receipt to refund so I had to call after a few weeks because I hadnt gotten the credit. The manager “David” if I recall, was very nice and completed the refund and stated changes were being made to the kitchen to improve. Overall I’m satisfied with the resolution and will come back to try out the new kitchen staff.

We had very high hopes after reading the reviews for this restaurant, however our experience left much to the imagination when it came to fine dining. We had the four course meal. One out of four dishes I would say was very good. The other three were mediocre at best. Lastly, there was a hair in one of my dishes. Thankfully they brought me out a new dish, but did not offer any other accommodation for the mistake. Overall, the food was not worth the price and I would highly suggest driving a little farther, to Portland for a better fine dining experience.

Don’t believe any bad reviews. It was delicious, great service, just as good as the original Portland location. Chefs menu last night was exactly what I wanted at an amazing price. Bread, soup, salad, main entree and dessert all flawless.

We went here last minute for our anniversary instead of driving down to Portland, and I’m so glad we did!
Service was top notch! The food was excellent, along with our drinks. We tried a few different things from appetizers to desserts and we were pleased with everything!

A Truly Memorable Experience at 555 North.
As a local business owner here in Brunswick, I really value great service, and 555 North absolutely delivered.
From the moment I walked in, the space felt warm and welcoming. It’s upscale without being stuffy, and the ambiance made it easy to relax and enjoy the evening. The service? Exceptional. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely seemed to care that I had a great experience. That level of attentiveness doesn’t go unnoticed, especially for someone like me who understands how important good service is in any business.
So refreshing to have a place like this in town, a spot that consistently offers great food, a beautiful setting, and truly top-notch service. As someone invested in this community, I’m grateful for the experience and proud to recommend 555 North to friends, visitors, and locals alike.
Can’t wait to return!

My husband and I chose the chefs special menu. Since there are two selections for each course, we decided to get one of each so we could sample everything. Bread was brought to our table with no butter. One of the first courses was soup for which we had no spoons. We waited and then had to walk up to the concierge to ask him for soup spoons and the butter. The peach salad and mussels were outstanding. One of the main courses, the hake, was almost inedible – it was over-baked and the smoky flavor was overwhelming. The pot de crème was delicious but the crème brûlée (which I usually love) had a thick layer of crystallized sugar on it. The ratio to the custard base was too high. Our server was friendly and tried to be attentive, but was clearly stretched thin. We noticed that the servers also had to act as bartenders, an unreasonable expectation for them. For the prices we paid, the service and the food should have been better.

Honestly, not that great. The other diners were pretentious and difficult to be around (I could have gone my whole life without hearing from the man with three fireplaces in one house). The atmosphere is cold. The food was mid with tiny portions. This is definitely a place that wants you to order your own bread, app, etc to make it a meal. At $150 for two people with one drink each and one take home dessert, that felt very not worth it to me, personally. Likely, not the target clientele if they cater to out of town guests. Service staff were very personable and did a wonderful job, I have no complaints at all about them. Townies beware.

Blown away and not expecting such a wonderful dinner and service. The presentation of each course was beautiful. We had The Homestead cocktail which had unique ingredients that was so delicious. Our apps included Bangs mussels and a nice bread. Then our party had the pork, scallops, duck, and fish entrees. Wow!!! Finally we had the carrot cake that was exactly what we needed to finish off our meal. This place will be our new go to.
