I got the hash browns (cooked just right ) with ham, onions, and green pepper mixed in, and I asked to switch the cheese from American to Cheddar. You get an egg on top, and she cooked it over medium PERFECTLY! It is very rare that I get an over medium egg without the slimy uncooked egg still sitting next to the yolk, but that’s what you get with good DOWN HOME COOKING. And the best part was, it was prepared when we ordered it. Also, the strawberry pie WAS TO DIE FOR!!!

Sally’s is a must when you come to Forest City! Nothing fancy, here. It’s a storefront diner with down home food. She serves breakfast and lunch, most days. But check before you go to be sure she’s open. I had the bacon cheeseburger (added tomato and lettuce), along with hot French fries. My wife had the grilled chicken breast with a side of egg salad. It was all cooked fresh, served hot, and absolutely delicious. We topped off the meal with pies and freshly made decaf coffee. I had the strawberry and my wife had the coconut. She makes all her own pies. Definitely TRY THE PIE! Highly recommended. Bring cash. I’ll try to add updated photos.

This is a very friendly Hometown Family Restaurant with great food and excellent service. The waitress was very nice and the Hot Beef Sandwich special was delicious.

Service was poor to say the least. They served decaf and argued with us when we said we wanted regular coffee. Then I was served the crust of the bread with my breakfast. When I ask the waitress I was told “o well”. The food quality was just as bad as the service. Do not come to Sally’s.

Yummy buttermilk pancakes! Those and regular breakfast. Biscuits and gravy are always mixed anywhere you go due to personal preference.

Old school diner in the middle of “main street” Forest City. The service was great and quick and the place is quaint.
I had their hot beef special which was ok. White bread with some meat and gravy over it with some mash. The coconut pie to finish lunch was good though and made the experience worthwhile.
I’ll come back and try something other than the hot beef next time.
Thanks for feeding me.

Went with a friend for the first time recently. The food was good, however, the waitress was completely unprofessional and negative. From the moment we walked in to the moment we were finished with our meal and ready to leave, she constantly displayed a terrible attitude with very poor word choices. We were quite shocked that this lady was employed after what we were witnessing. I hope this place can find someone else who would better represent this locally owned restaurant. The waitress made the entire dining experience very uncomfortable for us and her behavior was very distracting. We even witnessed a customer get up and walk out before ordering any food! Also, the menu selection was pretty limited and on top of that, they were out of a few items which made the options even more limited than they already were. On the plus side, what we did order was good.
