I really wanted to like this place.. the reason I chose this place was because of the higher rating on Google.

I ordered 2 buche tacos, 1 cabeza taco and 1 Al Pastor taco. Then I ordered the 4 taquito plate with Pollo because they confirmed the chicken they make is thigh meat.

Also got a large fountain drink, turned out the dr pepper was out and they fully accommodated that for me nicely by offering canned soda and being very apologetic.

All together totalled $38, & i was full but, I was highly dissatisfied. & I didnt want to complain to them because there wasnt anything they could do to fix it, thats just how this stuff tasted.

First off, I wonder why people get into making ethnic food and they just absolutely refuse to use seasonings, including salt. Like, I guess you can add salt, but I think these restaurants fear of using salt because wimpy sensitive white tastebuds influence these limitations. I say if yoire that boring and white that you just need flavorless food, GO TO TACO BELL. So, in a way I sympathize with these places because theyre trying to cater to the boring people too, you just absolutely lose your authenticity when you cater to them.

So 100% youre going to need the salt unless youre a boring white Karen who is allergic to seasoning & loves boiled unflavored food.

The salsa for the tacos is just 1 kind of salsa, & this too was undersalted, and had zero actual heat to it. I was underwhelmed.. I wanted a salsa roja, this was like a mix between a roja & a Verde. They also gave sort of a chunky salsa with the chips, also undersalted, and no heat whatsoever. I usually would ask for extra salsa on the side.. but neither of these they offered had flavor enough for me to care to have extra on the side.

The buche was probably the best protein of what I ordered, except man they really could crisp it up more.. I had mayhe 1 piece of buche in the 2 tacos I got that had a tiny bit of crunch to it, all other parts of buche were all chewy, and also undersalted & underseasoned

The cabeza taco was ok, just undersalted. The al pastor, slight flavor and pinkish color… but also undersalted. Def is not crispy seared Al pastor or cut off a trompa at all.

The taquitos had like this lettuce sour cream & guac salad right over top and.. I couldnt even tell i was eating guac because all of thst was lacking salt to the enth degree too. The crisp of the flour tortillas (which really made these more like flautas rather than toquitos. I wasnt mad though), i liked the crispness of the tortillas, and yes the Pollo chicken was dark meat, however it was like straight boiled chicken with zero seasonings!

Guys, I see you making comment replies to a lot of these reviews so I know youre going to see this. Please PLEASE I beg you to season your food. Not just with salt, use cumin, Mexican chili powder, smoked paprika… when I pick up my taco i want the juice that drips off after I spray with lime.juice to be sort of an orangey reddish color. Thats what seasonings do they flavor your meat & the juice that drips off the meat. All I got was clear taco juice drippings, thats how you know you’ve catered way too heavy to the white tongue… but this is Sant Rosa, you’ll get your ethnic customers back when they tell their friends that you actually have flavored your food correctly.

I hope you bump up your seasonings in a big way, because you have potential.

Also, my biggest #1 red flag that this place was going to be underwhelming from the very begining was the fact they charge $1 for soda refills on a $5+ large drink cost already. NO GOOD RESTAURANTS CHARGE FOR FOUNTAIN DRINK REFILLS. If your business is doing well enough you wont need to charge for refills. When they start charging for refills on drinks, its when they are lacking on flavor in their food – losing business and that reflects by them charging in places they shouldn’t be charging for things.

Hope yall work out these minor bugs, you’ll see your business get better once you start adding flavor back to your food. & make better salsa.

I think they may be under new ownership. Anyway, we love this place! Best breakfast burritos in town. And you can’t beat the $1.50 taco Tuesdays! I almost feel bad paying so little. They are fresh, light and not greasy at all. We like to walk down here.

The food is good. Not as flavorful as Tres Chiles across the street. But good nonetheless. Great Churros and excellent customer service.

I would rate my burrito a 2 out of 10. It was supposed to be a vegetarian burrito with guacamole, sour cream, beans, cheese, pico de Gallo. The burrito was mostly filled with whole pinto beans and a bit of rice and lettuce. Will not return!

Been going here for 20 years. They make carnitas just how I like them. Their chips and salsa are my favorite thin and crispy. Their lengua is good when they have it. When I don’t order tacos, I go for the super nachos withe grilled chicken. So good!

Unbelievably salty. Cheap. I see why it’s popular with older folks. Worst quesadilla execution I’ve ever seen in my life. You don’t want pictures.
