Penny Farthing inside Chuckanut Bay Distillery is an absolute gem! We visited during happy hour and were impressed with the great offerings on both the happy hour and regular menus. The drinks were outstanding—our favorites were the Distillery Old Fashioned and the Espresso Martini, both crafted to perfection.
For dinner, we ordered a side of meatballs, garlic potatoes, and the shrimp and polenta—each dish was delicious and packed with flavor. The ambiance was cozy and welcoming, and the service was top-notch.
We’ll definitely be back soon! Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a fantastic dining and cocktail experience in Bellingham!

Our party of three vegetarians were very happy with our selections from the (happy hour and) dinner menu. Not a huge selection, but we felt like we had options. We ordered the Whiskey Queso Dip from the HH menu. It was a small serving, but satisfying. For dinner we got the Eggplant Parm Sandwich (split between two seniors), and the Gnocchi Mac & Cheese. The sandwich was fairly skimpy on the fillings, but the warm marinara dip was very good and made it interesting. The mac & cheese was excellent, with a rich and interesting cheese flavor combination. We all ordered a cocktail but I forgot to take note of which ones, except for the Moscow Mule. All were excellent. Service was excellent also, with just the right amount of attention to our table. I seem to recall that although there was moderate noise, with a bit of effort we could carry on a conversation. I think this spot takes 2nd place for enjoyable HH/dinner spots in Bham. We will be back!

Really disappointing experience. First the food was overpriced. The Mac and cheese was the exception, it was good and a nice size portion. The rest was just underwhelming. $26 for 6 flavorless ribs with a tiny cup of beans and chopped radicchio. $15 for roughly 6 ounces of crab bisque with half a teaspoon of crab in it (though there was good flavor, see blurry photo). My dining partner laughed when he saw how few shrimp in the miniature cast iron of Catalan Shrimp, it could fit in the palm of your hand. The drinks were all good though.
The space was fine but not comfortable plus it was pretty cold.
Lastly it’s 20% automatic gratuity on party’s 6 or more. Service was good and friendly. But it was pour your own water and our bottles were empty most of the dinner. It’s fairly absurd and I try to tip generously.
Maybe it was an off night, but based on the prices and experience I wouldn’t give it another shot for food but definitely for drinks.

We did a wedding welcome party at Penny Farthing with about 30 people and we had a great time! The mezzanine space was perfect for us with the area around the bar for mingling and the back room for when folks wanted to sit and chat over food. The food was plentiful and delicious, and the bartenders were friendly and made good drinks. Working with Suzanne on scheduling and catering was easy; she offered good suggestions and was timely in her responses. Plus, they let us run over our allotted time a little bit, which we appreciated. Thank you!

Tried this place for a date night and it did not disappoint! We arrived around 5:30pm on a weekday and we got seated immediately, but it quickly got busy after that. Pretty affordable drinks. If you’re getting an appetizer, you have to get the pull apart baguette, it was amazing!

Everything was so cute! I used that word over 10 times while eating there, but the flavor was on a whole other level! We ordered too many tapas because we were so excited, unfortunately our table wasn’t big enough for them all. Luckily they bring them out as the other tapas get finished. Unique and delicious, we will definitely be coming back!

We went for a late lunch/early dinner. The gnocchi mac and cheese is fantastic, my husband liked the 3 cheese pizza, and the cocktails were delicious. Definitely going to go again.

Went to Penny Farthing the other night and Sarah served me at the bar. I loved her cocktails and she made us feel so comfortable and welcome. Love that this place is in Bellingham.

Cool spot to have dinner after the distillery tour. The small menu and different offerings from the typical bar fare was refreshing. Had gnocchi mac, meatball appetizer, caesar salads and we tried the pot still pizza pie. We liked everything but the pizza – it tasted good but was the size of a small tea saucer with hardly any toppings except cheese. Overpriced and definitely not enough for two. Stick to the other menu items. Drinks here are very well done and feature chuckanut bay spirits.

We celebrated our 12 year dating anniversary this weekend here, and this place was such a great choice! We loved the decor, the service and the food! I had a very tasty vegan Caprese and my husband had the meatball sando, both were happy campers. It’s always nice to see non-alcoholic drink options when dining out. Thanks for an elevated time!
