It’s a place so nice, I had to order twice. I started with the lobster mac and cheese, and then went back for the 6 ounce Picnic lobster roll. It’s for the best I’m not from the area- I’d go into generational debt and gain 30 pounds from the frequency I’d eat at this location.
Allagash is a delightful co-business of theirs, with alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks to enjoy with the best lobster you’ll ever have.
Most likely not.
In the quest to find the best lobster rolls in NE, we stumbled upon this place. Of course being located in Maine (as is their namesake) there is a lot of reputation to live up to, one that MA and NH seem to not be burdened with. Anywho, you can skip any other state. Head straight to Maine and any of their 3 locations where they are serving up the BEST lobster rolls hands down. It was quite a drive from North Boston but it was easily worth it! The flight does not disappoint and the quality was very consistent throughout all 3 locations. 10/10 will definitely be visiting again
Then the lobster roll comes out and it’s phenomenal. We ordered 6 oz which of course is more expensive but soooo worth it! We had 3 large guys in our group and they didn’t feel hungry after eating this roll. Highly recommend trying a flight as well. I liked the mayo and chives for interesting flavors, the slaw/picnic one is a little too sweet with the slaw for me. Of course the original which they call Connecticut I believe is the best. Butter, some lemon, and a delicious toasted bun. You really can’t beat it.
The bun itself could have a whole review for how much it adds to the overall deliciousness of the lobster roll. We also got potato salad as a side which I would recommend. It’s made with real potatoes you can see wedges in the salad and is reasonably priced. A little on the sweet side instead of mustardy but still very good.
I would literally eat here everyday if I could! Alas I will resign myself to coming as often as I can!
**new prices for 6 oz are $37.95 per roll
This location next to the brewery made it fun with outdoor seating and games.
Gluten free rolls are great here! Loved trying the clam dip too!
Edit: These lobster rolls were better than “Luke’s” or “High Roller”, which were 2nd and 3rd respectively. I’m still dreaming about their lobster flight 3 weeks later. It might have been the Allagash beer complimenting the lobster roll, but these guys are BRILLIANT with this food truck at Allagash.
