Lobster bisque and lump crab sandwich. The lump crab sandwich was good and plentiful. Very much like a good Maryland style lump that you rarely see in NY. The fish and chips was excellent.. 3 healthy sized filets with a delicious bater fried crispy coating along with a bed of fries. They clearly keep their fryer well tended as the fried foods had no rough oil flavor at all. The lobster bisque was not a favorite as it was a tomato based rather than my favorite cream/sherry base bisque. This by no means is a knock as It had plenty of flavor just not my cup of bisque. We are definitely coming back to try the new England clam chowder. The staff is very friendly and accommodating!!
Given that I spent $33 on my order, and another $14 on taxes and fees for Uber Eats, I was expecting for a fantastic dinner. As I opened the box, I was unfortunately disappointed by the small portions relative to the high price, and even more devastated by the way it made my stomach feel afterwards. I will say though, the food tasted good, and I enjoyed the 10 minutes of gobbling down the lobster roll. However, the hour that followed was incredibly painful, so much so that I could not finish the sweet potato fries (which I thought were alright, but not my type).
So after a drained wallet and a stomach in shambles, I will say this was not my favorite take out experience.
I highly recommend their lobster roll and clam chowder, because they were so fresh and full of flavor.
Thanks for the hospitality!
DJ’s Clam Shack is the kind of spot you dream about finding — a true hidden gem that combines incredible food with genuine, family-owned charm. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the heart and soul that’s gone into this place. The staff is warm, welcoming, and clearly proud of what they do — and rightfully so.
Let’s talk food: the lobster rolls are phenomenal — buttery, loaded with fresh lobster. The clam chowder is equally unforgettable — rich, creamy, and packed with flavor in every spoonful.
Whether you’re a local or just passing through Long Island, this place is 100% worth the stop.
