Updated Review – 2/7/25: Once again… delicious food, excellent service… fast and friendly! We love going to the Foxhole Lounge on Friday nights for fish! Everything is always great. I tried the Foxhole 2x2x4 Combo this time. Perfect! My wife likes the Poor Man’s Lobster. Great every time! You need to go check this place out. You will be happy you did.

Original Review: If you want large portions of delicious food… incredible, fast, and friendly service…. and a fun place to eat…. This is the place! We went in a Friday because we wanted fish. We started off with the best fried mushrooms we have ever eaten. I can’t believe we ate all of them. For our entrees, my wife had the Poor Man’s Lobster with potato pancakes and I had the biggest piece of Walleye Pike I have ever seen… with a baked potato. Everything was delicious! Yum! Our waitress Jamie was the most helpful, friendly and fun person ever! She made our dinner even more enjoyable. I highly recommended The Foxhole Lounge. We will be back for sure!!!

NOTE: This place is open to the public. You do not have to be a veteran to eat here!

Another cool place I had never been before I started Friday night Fish fry with Mom. It was packed when I got there. I understand why people get here early. 2 of the items sold out while I was there. Fish was great potato pancakes were a nice change from french fries. Staff was super nice and friendly. Everyone was great. If I am downtown I would definitely stop by

They had me at the butter warmer with the tea light ♥️♥️♥️ It makes fish so much better. I ordered the broiled cod. (Again, the warm butter), potato pancakes were a little greasy but still had amazing flavor. Slaw delishhhh!! The martinis here are so good too! I had the Grasshopper martini. I recommend to ask about the specialty drinks they do. Great service all around, clean bathrooms and I will return

Jen was my friendly bartender and makes you immediately feel right at home.. If you love history and are a proud American, this is a great place to visit. Previously a VFW, this location is now a Veterans museum. You will find a full menu, Friday fish fry and great bloody marys served with little bottles of Tabasco! @wiscomary and wiscomary.com #itsabloodyadventure

I cut my karaoke teeth here at the Foxhole under DJ Cowboy, DJ Trina and DJ Johnny T. All 3 were great DJ’s. About a year ago, I had severe back problems that ended up that I had to have surgery. Last night (08/09/2025), I finally got to go back and sing some karaoke. The new DJ (DJ bigRon) was very down to earth and had a chill vibe to himself and was integrating/socializing with his singers that ended up making us all feel like a big family. He is a good singer himself and was very homey yet professional. I will be going back regularly because of this great experience. The hours for karaoke on Saturday is 8PM-12AM. Be there or be square.

Some of the best fish fry I’ve had in the city. Get the captain’s platter and the potato pancakes with sour cream and applesauce, you won’t be disappointed. Also the root beer is really good.

This place rocks. The clientele is a good mix of people, and the djs are fun. You get a safe place to hang out while supporting our retired military personnel.

We gave it a second chance. Made a reservation and we were seated right away! Who knew that you would need a reservation for a place like this.
Food was phenomenal, they were short on staff, service was as expected.
I’m changing my review to 4 starts. We had no idea about reservations. Wish someone told us, instead of ignoring us. We’ll be back, with reservations, of course!

Unfortunately I cannot say anything good about the food because we tried to have dinner twice and last time, after waiting 10 minutes by the door and being ignored by every person that worked there, we left.
I understand that regulars probably are way better than a new couple that stepped in there but we could have became regulars as well.
We went to the Chartrooom and had a fantastic service and food. Guess we’ll be spending out money elsewhere.

We went for the Friday night fish fry. The food is good, the service is good( a bit slow), but overall 5 stars. It’s located in a VFW hall. An extremely relaxed atmosphere. Definitely a low key kinda place to get great, fresh not frozen fried fish.
