This is the best coffee experience you can possibly have in Portland.
I’ve been coming here for years and I can’t believe I’ve never left a review.
J is probably the most passionate person I’ve ever met in regards to coffee. He cares more about the quality of his service and product than I could possibly emphasize in a review. If there was Michelin stars for coffee carts, I’d give him 4/3 stars, the quality and attention to detail is just that good.
Not only does he care about the service, but he also seems to genuinely remember and care for his regulars and even irregulars.

I think I’ve found my NEW favorite outdoor Café!!! I had latte here that was so incredibly smooth! Such a great, bold taste with every sip!

Our family is traveling around the United States, and one of our favorite things to do is visit local coffee shops along the way. We’ve enjoyed many great cups of coffee, but hands down, this was the best we’ve had! The owner was kind and friendly, carefully crafting each cup right in front of us. You can tell he truly takes pride in his work—the finished product was incredible. We only wish we had found this place earlier in our stay. Definitely worth a visit!

You can expect service with a smile, a mood boosting chat, and a true craftsman who cares about his end product.
I usually drink a decaf mocha(to hide the bitterness of most decafs), but I wanted to really taste his espresso so I went with the cortado. It was so smooth, so rich and so flavorful. The kind of coffee drink that makes you realize you’ve been drinking subpar coffee prepared by people who do not understand the craft.
There will be a line on the weekends, fyi.

J Vein is the best coffee in the area and it’s not even close. This is consistently my favorite shot of espresso in town right now and the owner is super friendly. Highly recommended if you want a good shot of espresso or a coffee drink. J Vein has a loyal following for a reason.

JJ changed my perspective on coffee, and pretty much ruined coffee from every other cafe. Except in extenuating circumstances I’m unable to drink coffee elsewhere.
My current go-to is an espresso with a splash of Demerara. Perfect every time.

I’ve been coming here for over a year and it’s been nothing but amazingly fast service, high quality coffee, and a great community. The owner makes everyone feel very special and welcomed. I try and bring everyone I know here because I want them to experience it too! Couldn’t recommend this place enough.

I love this coffee cart. Their Chai is so delicious. It’s hand made and tastes so much better than the big box coffee places. Very spicey (in a non heat way). I could drink it all day. The atmosphere is very cosy and welcoming and the staff is so friendly and passionate about their business and product. I will be stopping by again soon!

JJ is the best barista with the most delicious coffee, and the coolest shop in town. PERIOD. If you like rich, Italian roast that is lovingly and skillfully selected, brewed and prepared – J Vein Coffee is a must! We’re new in town and friends told us we had to try the best coffee in Portland, and they were not kidding! Everything I’ve tasted so far is better than the last – a perfectly balanced cappuccino, a creamy oat milk latte, and a decadent Shakerato. Not to mention owner JJ is just an awesome human who is so friendly, fun, warm, and passionate about his craft. All his clients are equally as lovely and very loyal for a reason…if you are lucky you might even score a biscotti, and your pup will most definitely score a treat. Go get you some!! ☕️
