We were on our way to Watkins and decided to try this place for lunch. So glad we did! Food was very good and the service was excellent. They have a lot of beers on draft and a nice menu selection. They also have outside eating. Also, it’s short walk to the falls. If you’re just passing through, definitely go walk over to the waterfalls.

This is the 2nd time we’ve been to Althea’s and it doesn’t disappoint. Adam was our server and in spite of being the only server and busy, he was SO friendly and attentive providing excellent service. We had their hot honey bone in pork chop and it was amazing!

The restaurant boasts a unique cooking method that imbues their burgers, Is like a smoky, wood-fired flavor something like that , making them incredibly tender and flavorful. The grilled chicken was equally exceptional, offering a taste unlike anything I’ve had before. The friendly owner and the overall ambiance make this a must-visit. I can’t wait to return!

Despite living barely a quarter mile away, we haven’t been here more than a couple times. Decided to try again recently and probably will not be back – but it’s not because of the food. It’s the prices. We each got burgers, fries, and a beer and soda and it was $60 after tax, before tip.
The food was decent – burgers well prepared, not tiny, the fries were good. Service was good. But that price is pretty ridiculous, even for 1/2 lb burgers. I mean… $8 just to upgrade the chips to sweet potato fries? Just way too much, even compared to similar places in the area (and even in Corning, of all places).

Great place! Small menu done very well! Even though the bar was mostly full and three tables occupied by several couples, the young woman working, managed being, hostess, serving staff, bartender and bus staff. Hopefully, they keep her. She’s an asset. I wouldn’t be surprised if she cooked some of the food too!
But the burger was great, fries crispy, wings not overdone and drinks mixed well. What more could you want.

Our hungry group of five arrived at Althea’s about 1/2 hour before closing time on a Friday night not realizing the kitchen had closed already. The bartender Rai, who was just sweeping up and getting ready to close, welcomed us in and said we could still order from the fried food selection. We had a whole variety of wings, chicken tenders, onion rings, fried green beans, fried mushrooms and sweet potato fries. All delicious and served with a smile & friendly conversation. We were sooo happy and thankful for Rai!! She went far above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and had everything we needed. Although we did not intend to stay long, we did end up overstaying the closing time by quite a bit, but we were never rushed or made to feel it was a problem. Excellent food, excellent drinks, excellent atmosphere but most importantly, excellent service! Highly recommend!

We’ve done pickup from Althea’s plenty of times, but this time, we decided to step out and enjoy a nice dinner at a local spot—and I couldn’t be happier with our experience!
From the moment we walked in, the welcoming and cozy atmosphere was undeniable. We were invited to sit wherever we felt comfortable, and our server arrived right away with menus. She enthusiastically shared the specials, which sounded amazing—something both our server, Raiana, and the bartender eagerly confirmed.
Our drinks arrived quickly and were delicious, and the food followed soon after. Raiana was incredible—she checked on us multiple times, brought extra napkins and plates for our appetizers, refilled our waters, and seemed to anticipate everything we needed before we even had to ask.
The honey pork chops were out of this world! Paired with mashed potatoes and crispy string beans, it was the perfect combination. But fair warning—it’s a special, so it may not always be available! The jalapeño burger was also cooked to perfection, making for an all-around delicious meal in an incredibly friendly and welcoming environment.
Thank you so much for your outstanding hospitality and for giving us such a lively and enjoyable night out on these cold winter evenings. We can’t wait to come back!

I had the best burger and local IPA here! Andrew our server was amazing! He was waiting on at least 5 different tables of four or more (and the bar), making all of the drinks, taking the orders and operating the entire restaurant. True rock star and the food was beyond amazing! We travel from Lancaster PA each fall and hands down the best pub food I have ever had (and I only had a beer cheese burger, fries and local IPA), but it was such a great meal, great music, atmosphere and amazing server! Kudos Andrew and thank you! Five stars and I will be back!

Stopped for a late lunch after visiting Watkins Glen Park…so glad! Everything was delicious and Indiana was so friendly and helpful…with samples of wine, suggestions on local beers, clams, sweet potato fries and onion rings…2 couples ate all this plus shared a hamburger and Philly Steak sandwich …we were stuffed but happy….didn’t need dinner!
