First, The staff was amazing and very personable. This is our first time in Seattle from Dallas and they made us feel so welcomed and gave us many great suggestions in the area.
Second, the sushi was 10/10. This was such a unique experience. Delicious combinations, so fresh and flavorful. I’m so glad we made a reservation to try this place out. Definitely recommend!

Can’t recommend this place enough. My coworkers and I celebrated a birthday here and we had such an amazing upscale experience. The expertise, professionalism and ambiance the chefs provide was amazing. We started with complimentary welcome drinks and appetizers in the first room. Then we walked into the second room- the chefs/ bartender introduced themselves. We each found individual names on the placard. 16 course sushi and dessert was absolutely delicious. Each piece of sushi was carefully executed. The chefs are all very friendly and engaging with all the customers. My friend has dietary restrictions and the chefs were more than happy to substitute the sushi to accommodate his dietary needs. The bartender here is not your typical bartender. He can take your favorite drink and elevate it, times 100. I HIGHLY recommend choosing the bartender’s choice for your alcoholic/non alcoholic drink. Just tell the bartender what you like/dislike and he will create you a personalized drink. I ordered 3 rounds of bartenders choice and I was pleasantly amazed each time. Sushi By Scratch is definitely on the pricier side but it’s more than just sushi, it is an experience. The best omakase I’ve been in the states !

I cannot speak highly enough of the service or the meal. They serve a delicious and varied omakase with excellent sake pairings poured generously.
The atmosphere is very pleasant. You are seated directly at the sushi counter where you can see as each selection is prepared.
The chef’s were also incredibly friendly and knowledgeable.

This meal was LIFE CHANGING.
Very very expensive, easily can get over 500/person after dinner and tip. 17 course omasaki dinner (chef’s choice). Sake pairings. Russian caviar. Very exclusive. Very worth it.
If you are a foodie, and you love sushi, you won’t be disappointed. ❤️

A fun omakase sushi experience in downtown Seattle. The entrance is pretty nondescript with a tiny bronze sign, very easy to miss but it sets the mood for something different. You start at the bar, they collect some preferences, the fet taken to the back where you’re treated ro sushi and sake. On the more expensive side in that this might not be a repeat/ annual tradition but the food and drinks were super duper fantastic. We had a blast.

This was by far the best omakase experience I’ve ever had! I’m quite sensitive to soy sauce, but the team was incredibly accommodating and made sure everything suited my needs—I felt great afterward. We also indulged in extra caviar and truffle, which took the experience to another level of luxury. I opted for the sake pairing as well, which added a fun and delightful touch to the evening. Every dish was beautifully crafted and absolutely delicious. A truly memorable dining experience!

It was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. The service was exceptional, the food and drinks were high quality and uniquely executed. The ambiance was intimate and beautiful.
It exceeded my expectations and I could see why an experience like this is so expensive. It’s probably a once in a decade splurge for me and it was well worth it.

I’ll split this review in two and start with the good. The food here is amazing. The ceremony of walking into the bar and the service at the front was excellent. It was my birthday and each server said happy birthday as I walked in which was a great touch. Now the bad. At this price point $200+ a person I expect the service to be professional, attentive, and sharp. I personally did not get that feeling through the meal. Additionally, the sushi is amazing but there is little various in the type of sushi of the presentation.
Ultimately, there are other omakase in Seattle that are well under this price, that serve better drinks, tell a story, and give you a compete experience unlike what I received here. This place did not live up to the hype.

This was a fun experience overall. We arrived early and joined another couple at the bar where we received a welcome cocktail and waited for the previous seating to leave and our fellow diners to arrive. The food was delicious. The fish quality was excellent, very traditional seafood varieties but with flavor combinations making each bite unique. I had the sake pairing with the meal and it was fantastic. The sommelier picked some fun and unique choices to pair with the courses. I have some food restrictions and they did a great job asking via text in advance and reconfirming upon arrival. I had several substitutions that were given similar treatments as what other diners had. Highly recommend!
