Best bento box around! The sushi is delicious and fresh. Wonderful tempura veggie, and all of our meat was cooked perfectly. The teriyaki sauce was the best I’ve had. Perfect balance of sweet and savory. We also enjoyed that the rice was sticky rice. Their Thai food is also very good. Miso soup had very good flavor. The only downside is, if you’re not big on ginger you may not enjoy the salad. The only dressing option is their house made ginger dressing. Almost all of our party liked it. Also the staff is so nice and friendly, they treat you like family. We will definitely be back!

This place is as amazing as everyone says it is. Go try it now. I went with my friends and got two sushi rolls and a hot green tea. Sushi is fresh and well put together, with a large offering of basic rolls and cool, different ones. The fried rice, curry, and all that yummy stuff, I would go back to try- it all looked delicious. The atmosphere and lighting is spot on. What a gem in Mt. Juliet! Hope it sticks around for everyone’s sake.

Came here for the first time last night. It was honestly great from the chill lighting to the easy going and attentive staff. The food was sooo yummy I will definitely have to come back to try some sushi. I enjoyed the pad thai dish while my friend had red curry. Both were delicious!

Smiley Thai & Sushi is one of those rare places that gets it right every single time. The food? Incredible. The service? Always warm and attentive. The ambiance? Beautiful and relaxing.
Everything on the menu feels intentional and made with love. We had the Pad Thai and the crab curry and let me tell you…that crab curry lives rent-free in my mind. I had it once, thought about it for over a week, went back for it…and then went back again. It’s that damn good.
Also, do yourself a favor and get the mango sticky rice. Trust me.
It’s a little gem tucked between Hermitage and Mount Juliet, and I can’t recommend it enough.

Service: We were immediately seated and our waiter took our drink orders. I had gotten a (bottled) coke which was different than most restaurants. (Basically if you finish a coke product and want another one it won’t be considered a refill.) I ordered the shrimp dumpling as an appetizer, my family member had red curry and I had a pad Thai.
Food review:
(4) Shrimp Dumplings: Very nice and savory!
Red Curry: My family member said she loved it and it’s tastes exactly like how red curry is supposed to be made.
Pad Thai: Very sweet and also savory, very fulfilling.

I spent many years working near Chinatown in NYC, where Asian food—especially Thai—was a regular part of my life. Since moving to Tennessee, it’s been genuinely difficult to find truly authentic Asian flavors.
Smiley Thai exceeded our expectations. The curry and Pad See Ew were absolutely delicious and remarkably close to the flavors I’ve missed and craved for years. We also ordered sushi, and it was hands-down the freshest and most flavorful sushi we’ve found in the area.
The service was attentive, friendly, and welcoming, and the entire experience felt thoughtful and well-executed. This is exactly the kind of place we’ve been hoping to find, and we’re very much looking forward to returning. Highly recommend.

This is our go-to sushi and Thai spot in the entire Nashville area. We’re there almost monthly now, mainly because the service is consistently fast and friendly, seating is quick, and the menu is extensive – I’m still working my way through the sushi and Thai options. What really sets this place apart is the efficiency without sacrificing quality. You can expect to be seated, have drinks, an appetizer, soup or salad, and sushi rolls on the table all within 5 minutes of entering. Entrees follow shortly after. It’s consistently quick, no matter how busy they are or what time you go – good luck finding that anywhere else in Nashville.

I love this place. The two times I’ve been here they’ve been packed. Their pork bbq wonton soup is really delicious, very filling and super comforting this winter season. Their beef pho is also really good–I wish they’d add more veggies though. The crab fried rice had huge servings and was very tasty with the chilli garlic oil as a condiment. Their iced chai was very refreshing with just the right amount of sweetness to it. I am however disappointed with the crab noodle curry. To me, the coconut sauce was very diluted and not creamy–for $28/order I was expecting for it to be the best entree in the house. It was not. I’m Asian and we use a lot of coconut milk in our dishes as well. Now I’m skeptical to try the other curry entrees because it may not live up to my expectations. I’d definitely return for the Chicken Pad Thai next time .
