However, today was a completely different experience when I came back and ordered the same drink. It should be known that I provided them with my own name for the order, not forcing them to write a name that I am perfectly aware they may not want to write. This time I received a personalized note on my cup, admittedly written by Jess, pictured below. I didn’t initially notice the note but once I did, the message was pretty clear. While Jess believed she was smart and subtle, it was clearly an unnecessary, passive-aggressive way to poke at my order. I’m not one to shy away from conversation, so I went back and asked to speak to the on duty manager about the note’s meaning. As expected, the entire crew tried to downplay the message explaining that they wrote fun little notes on every cup. They claimed it was a smiley face but my four year old child would disagree. Obviously, they were unable to adequately explain the positive intent behind the message my cup received. It’s disappointing. Without mentioning CK, they did. They acknowledged that they are aware of his order and they’ve even had training on it. Now, I’m going to venture that this particular practice wasn’t part of the training. When I go to Starbucks, I want the employees to take my order, make my drink, and then give me the drink. That’s it. I wasn’t making a political statement, I simply ordered a drink that Starbucks offers.
I hope this review results in additional professionalism training by the store’s manager, Rob, as well as better leadership and accountability from the District Manager, Scott. I fully realize there are bigger issues in the world than this, however, I believe this hateful way of expressing oneself’s personal opinions does not belong in any corporate business. I would not have left this review if the employee or manager had acknowledged the mistake when confronted rather than gaslight me into believing it had a positive intent.
Between the times of 9:25-9:40am on 07-16-25, there was two women who were mainly assisting with drive through via head set and by the window passing out drinks.
During the drive through, the workers on the head set were making snarky comments to the woman in front me and rushing her.
Once I got up the microphone, I was rushed and then had a snarky comment thrown at me as well. The drive up window was the same, with several passive aggressive comments unfortunately.
I understand that it’s a busy morning, but that shouldn’t be an excuse, especially since I didn’t say anything snarky or unkind.
There seems to be no point to be unkind to workers who clearly let their emotions impact their work, but it would be helpful if workers were more kind and not making comments or rushing guests due to them not having a good work day.
