The standout dish was the fish roe tofu soup. It’s my first time trying this style, and easily one of the most memorable tofu soups I’ve had. The broth is deeply savory without being overpowering, the tofu is soft and absorbs flavor well, and the fish roe (small yellow croaker roe) blends surprisingly well with the soup. It comes with hot stone purple rice, and the crispy rice at the bottom was a bonus.
The BBQ beef bulgogi comes in a very generous portion. The seasoning leans sweet and gets sweeter as you eat, but this seems to be their usual style and is done better than most places.
The hot stone bibimbap is solid reliable. The gochujang here is more savory than sweet, which I personally liked.
The beef short rib soup (kalbitang) was another highlight: very comforting and easy to drink, even though the ribs were smaller than expected.
Thank you.
I REALLY ENJOYED YOUR FOOD.
This time, we were served by an elegant female staff member with beautiful silver-white hair. As soon as she noticed we had a child with us, she thoughtfully replaced one of our hot teas with warm tea, which was incredibly considerate.
Our favorite dish is the Galbitang. The broth is perfectly seasoned, and the two large bone-in beef short ribs are very satisfying. The meat is exceptionally tender and easy to eat, and the tendon parts have a pleasantly chewy texture—even a young child can eat them effortlessly.
The seafood pancake is wonderfully crispy. Even my husband, who usually doesn’t eat seafood, took one bite and couldn’t resist finishing an entire slice.
The other dishes were also delicious. Throughout the meal, the servers kept an eye on our table, and whenever they noticed our side dishes were finished, they immediately refilled them, making our dining experience absolutely perfect.
Highly recommended to everyone.
Update
Hadn’t been back in a while, glad I did. Still great food, reasonably priced, fast and friendly service.
Parking is plenty.
This place is known for their soft tofu soups, all kinds, their yuk gae jang, army stew etc.
Their menu is small, but flavor is good. They have a combo where you get 2 items, like meat/fish + soft tofu soup. The portion sizes are smaller so I would recommend get them separately for the bigger portion, especially if you are sharing for a family meal.
Service is limited since there’s only one person serving today who is taking order, delivering food, and also bussing the tables.
Right next to Hyangmi, a Korean-style Chinese restaurant, you can enjoy both if you want to. And the food is really good in both places! Not your typical Americanized excessively sweet and salty stuff. Authentic Korean.
Food
The tofu soup here is pretty good! Can’t go wrong with beef or dumpling if you aren’t sure what to get. I like seeing that it comes out bubbling cause I know it’ll warm me up on a cold winter day. The soup is not super salty either.
I love this place for tofu soup because it’s one of the few places that I’ve seen in the Seattle area that do the stone rice bowl.
Atmosphere
Very casual and a spot that I would just come to quickly eat or get take out. Not the fanciest spot since it’s in a grocery store. Tables are shared with the other restaurants in the grocery store.
Pricing
The prices for the tofu soup are average compared to other tofu soups prices. If anything, this place has more value because of the stone rice bowl.
Service
Service was okay. They brought the food out to the table we were sitting at. They also clear the tables for you.
Other
Plenty of parking in front of the grocery store. The restaurants are on the side of the grocery store.
