We stopped by Nori for dinner and were so glad we did.

We ordered the ebi oshi, salmon oshi, and several hand rolls — king salmon, spicy bluefin tuna, and avocado — along with the Lychee Raspberry and Peach Pafekuto mocktails.

The ebi oshi was easily the star of the meal, followed closely by the salmon oshi. Both were so good that we ended up ordering a second round. The hand rolls were very fresh, well balanced, and enjoyable, and the drinks were flavorful and beautifully presented.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and made to feel welcome. We were shown to our seats promptly, and a staff member took the time to explain the menu and daily specials in detail. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and attentive, and the overall atmosphere felt uplifting and relaxed.

The level of hospitality stood out and genuinely reminded us of what we experienced during our trips to Japan — thoughtful, welcoming, and attentive without ever feeling rushed.

Overall, Nori delivered excellent food, great drinks, and outstanding service. We would happily return and recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality handroll and sushi experience in Vancouver.

First-Timer Hand Roll & Sake Heaven!
I seriously cannot get over how incredible this experience was! As a total newbie to the hand-roll and sake scene, the chefs and waitstaff were absolute lifesavers—so patient and helpful. I took their recommendation and tried sake for the first time… and wow. It was genuinely great! I actually loved it.
And the hand rolls? Forget about it. They are a solid 10/10, no question. They completely blew me away!
I’m already planning my next visit. I will definitely be coming back

Tried Hello Nori recently. Loved the presentation, everything looks amazing and the experience itself is fun. I had the Konnichiwagarita (sake-based margarita) which was zesty and refreshing, but a bit too sweet for my taste.

We tried their popular truffle lobster and it was good, but honestly anything tastes good with that much mayo and sauce. The sashimi was the best thing we had, super fresh, but definitely expensive (as expected).

Overall, it feels a bit overrated. It’s a nice spot for a first date since the setup sparks conversation, but not great for hanging out with friends, the layout makes it hard to socialize.

I’m quite disappointed with my dinner experience at Hello Nori Robson. I usually go to the Richmond Centre location and have always enjoyed it, so I decided to try Robson this time. Unfortunately, it did not meet expectations.

After being seated, the server asked if we wanted tea or water. I requested warm water because I’m lactose intolerant and needed to take a pill before eating. I always order the scallop roll with mayo (usually two), so timing matters. Shortly after, a couple sat beside us and began asking about the sake selection. The server spent about 10 minutes chatting with them and forgot about our water entirely.

My first sushi roll (spicy salmon) arrived, but I couldn’t eat it because I hadn’t taken my pill yet. We had to ask the sushi chef to remind the server about the water. When it finally arrived, it was cold water instead of the warm water I asked for. By that time, my roll had already started getting soggy. I ended up taking my pill late and eating the roll anyway, but the seaweed texture was no longer crisp. For the rest of the meal, the server largely ignored us while continuing to chat with the couple next to us.

The food quality and presentation were also lacking compared to the Richmond location. The rolls were placed down in a way that caused them to spread open. The rice to filling ratio was off, for example, my unagi roll had too little rice, making it overly salty.

To top it off, the server placed a plate of sashimi in front of us that we didn’t order. When we told him it wasn’t ours, instead of apologizing, he asked, “Are you sure you didn’t order this?” He then checked the system and realized it belonged to the couple beside us. That interaction felt unnecessary and unprofessional.

Overall, the service felt inattentive and the food quality was inconsistent. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as I’ve had much better experiences at the Richmond location.

Ordered via DoorDash. The food was packed securely with stickers all around which was very reassuring. The presentation was very nice too.

Sadly, most of the rolls weren’t fresh (including even the cucumber). The delivery was quite quick, so it wasn’t an issue of distance/time/DoorDash. It appears the ingredients weren’t fresh to begin with. I didn’t make a claim, but ended up throwing the entire order out.

Food is pretty fresh and there is a good selection. Not authentic Japanese sushi by any means, but the sashimi is decent. The service was painfully slow though. There were a lot of staff serving drinks, taking orders, but only 1 person who could make the sushi. We were worried we would miss our ferry so we got the rest of our food to-go. It was packed super well with wasabi, ginger, and soy sauce, and they even give you a little sauce dish!

I came here with my mom a few weeks ago when we were in the city. She had already been before but this was my first time and she highly suggested that I try. You have no idea how much of a good idea it was. A very cozy vibe, all the staff members were a delight and the food was outstanding. I can’t stop thing about it, honestly. I’ll be back when I’m in the city again. Please support them if you LOVE sushi. 🙂

One of the best places to come in Vancouver, not only the place is nice, but the food and cocktails are amazing, delicious and fastly served. The service is the best. The hostess, waiters and the managers are always on top of everything taking care of you. Love the food recommendations, the mention of specials and happy hour!

I’ve been here a few times with my partner and it’s a fun experience for a date night. However, it is overpriced, especially since they don’t have any food on their happy hour special anymore. The handrolls are small and the selection is limited. As others have mentioned, you come here for the experience. That being said, the fish is fresh and the unagi handroll is our favorite.
