This place is a gem! It seems to stay busy for a reason! Service is really great, knowledgeable, and friendly! The menu is pretty large and has options of all kinds. Margaritas are really quite tasty— but they have a variety! Location is nice, parking is limited due to the fact they are busy. Brief walk from street parking and it is worth every step. Would suggest highly!

This is our go to Mexican restaurant when visiting Appleton. Sangria’s Mexican Grill is fantastic. The food is truly authentic and full of flavor, and the staff are warm and welcoming. The menu is easy to read, with clear signature dishes that make choosing fun instead of overwhelming.
The chips were delicious, and the guacamole was absolutely amazing — so fresh and vibrant. And made table side! Delicious! The salsa had just the right amount of spice.
The restaurant itself is very clean with a pleasant atmosphere, and the spacious tables make it comfortable to settle in and enjoy your meal. Overall, a wonderful spot for flavorful, authentic Mexican cuisine.

Delicious food and HUGE portions, easily enough for 2-3 meals. Great prices, especially when you factor in the leftovers. I also had (and loved) the flaming margarita – delicious and a super great value at $7.50. Cant wait to go back here next time I’m in town! I didn’t get our waiter’s name, but he was very friendly and engaging. There’s some room for improvement in the ambiance (the lighting is a bit harsh), but that’s not a big deal whatsoever, just wanted to explain the star I docked for atmosphere. Still a 5-star visit overall!

This is the third time my pickup order has been made incorrectly. I always order the same items — tacos with only beans, Mexican style, or cheese-only enchiladas rojas — so my order is very simple and consistent. Despite this, it continues to be made wrong.
On my most recent visit, my order was incorrect again. I went back in, waited about 20 minutes for it to be remade, and received no apology for either the mistake or the wait.
When my food was brought out, the older woman who appears to be the manager, who is present every time I pick up an order, asked me to check the food. After I confirmed it was correct, she hastily flipped the bag upward for me to take and walked away, without saying anything further — no apology and not even a “have a good day.” While she smiled when I first arrived, the rest of the interaction felt unfriendly, and this was the first time I’ve ever seen her smile at me after many visits.
On a couple of occasions, while my payment was in the process of being handled, staff stopped assisting me to help other customers, leaving me waiting mid-transaction before returning to complete the payment.
Overall, the pickup experience often feels unwelcoming. A couple of the hostesses are polite, but interactions with other staff have consistently felt cold or dismissive.
I’ve tried to continue supporting this place because I like the food, but after repeated order errors and consistently unfriendly service, I no longer feel comfortable coming back.
As a paying customer, it’s genuinely unpleasant and disheartening to be treated poorly on most visits. I’ve consistently been polite and friendly when picking up my orders. This place seems to do everything better than most Mexican restaurants. The usual items are there, but some of their offerings are less common. The service attentive, but not obtrusive, and the presentation (see photos, and, yes, the orchid was real) is exemplary. I strongly recommend the molcajete offerings. It can get crowded on weekends and dinner, so lunch M-F is best.

Hands down our new favorite place! Seated upstairs, quiet and cozy. I had steak tacos with cactus salad and tequila veggies. I wasn’t a fan of cactus salad, but that was me, would still try it. Hubby had carne asada. Both entrees enough for 2 meals! Both were delicious. Paired with 2 margs each. With tip under $90.
