I love when a place totally blows away my expectations, and this great little local diner-style restaurant totally did that!! Been driving by this place for years and (unfortunately for me) nothing about the name or the exterior or the strip mall parking lot location ever made me even consider stopping by. Anyhow, some friends mentioned it, so our group of four stopped by one evening. The minute you walk in, it feels like a diner with the homemade dessert refrigerator, bar seating, local patriotic decorations, booths, and impressively thick menu of many varied options. The background country music (not too loud) gives it a little local vibe too. No reservations so take any table (if there is one….which there wasn’t for us, so we had to stand at the door for about 5 minutes). Definitely feels like everyone here is probably eating here often, and the average patron age is probably 70….but everyone was welcoming and friendly. The restaurant is clean, the tables were quickly bussed, and our waitress (Allie) was excellent and friendly. We didn’t try any, but it appears they even have a fridge with individual cans/bottles of beer (no drafts) and wine. Everything is reasonably priced, the food is quickly served, the serving sizes are very generous, and most importantly – everything was delicious. Truly, every person at our table said their items were great and they would definitely be coming back. So if you are looking to some unique and diner style food in a casual (NOT fancy) local place, definitely make this place the top of your list!!

Been to Johnny’s a few times recently. Happy to get the dinner experience right next to my house… Usually have to drive to HoneyBees. DoubleT in Glen Burnie changed prices, don’t tell you all the up charges when you order and recipes… Don’t go there anymore. At Johnny’s I got the egg salad club with bacon and potato chips for $9 it was a good deal. Went last night with my daughter…. She got crab dip and fries…. Crab meat tasted canned but it was pretty good. I ordered meat loaf platter with 2 sides and house salad for like $15. Meatloaf was advertised homemade and it was really good. Got tomato sauce or beef gravy. Tomato was good. Sides mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. Mac was good but when you get meatloaf you kinda expect real mashed potatoes. They seemed to be instant. It was dinner time. Real mashed potatoes are cheap. Service was great… Fast seating was nice… Everything good but real mashed potatoes would have been nice. Maybe that’s something to add.

First of all great service and great atmosphere. It’s a little sanctuary of traditional American diners. It’s not the flashy place with the huge menus and the stainless steel. It’s the place that you and you buddy can go and relax and chat and drink some coffee while you are eating amazing food. I had the Louisiana creole omelette and my buddy had the breakfast platter. His platter looked great but my omelette rocked my world! I loved all the flavors and the portion and price was generous. I will absolutely be returning here. My only regret is that I have lived down the street from this restaurant for 2 years and o it just found it.

I’ve frequented johnnys for a few months now, always ordering the chicken tenders in a basket and subbing out the coleslaw for fries. Obviously I don’t want coleslaw, no sane person likes coleslaw. The total always comes out to $13 and some change. Today, they tried to charge me over $18 for my meal. The lady said that it was an extra $2.50 charge for subbing fries. I’m no mathematician but $12.99 + $2.50 doesn’t equal 18. I protested, and agreed to meet them at $15. The menu pricing didn’t change, but for the first time in 30+ times I’ve ate here, they upcharged me for no reason without any indication on the menu or on the phone that there would be an additional charge for doing so. Additionally, my chicken tender basket only had 3 tenders. It is a shame because they do have great food but I will likely not be willing to give them my business again. You lost a formerly loyal customer today.

Breakfast with the Grinch and Mama Bear. I passed by Johnny’s for 20 years and finally decided to drop in for weekdays breakfast. So far made about 10 visits. Breakfast food is good enough and very importantly the coffee tastes right. However, I must say, overall I get the feeling I’m not liked for whatever reason. There’s a Grinch who stands by the breakfast door and with a grimace and a scowl repeats a mantra “Welcome to Johnny’s…. “, then if it’s my unlucky day he might also be the one to take my order. Mama Bear is usually close by too but seems like she would rather be somewhere else. When the session is over, I’m always the one to initiate the ‘see you next time”. With a painful expression the Grinch will barely whisper a reply. Today went to Double T for breakfast and the young lady serviced me with a smile and was very attentive. I won’t miss the Grinch, even at Christmas time.

This place was very nice! It’s got a friendly environment, and calming atmosphere. The staff and service makes you feel as if you’re at home, along with the food which feels nostalgic and warm.
The service was alright, we had to remind the waitress to grab the check along with serving us the wrong food.
As for the cleanliness of the place, it was alright. Nothing extraordinary about that.
The food on the other hand was sub-par, it’s for sure edible, but something about it was off.

Brunch and let me say this is a great spot where locals frequent. I’ve never had a bad meal here and the portions are well above normal. Great service and a decent price for a great meal. Not my 1st There and will not be my last time.

AMAZING! We were headed out for Sunday shopping and thought why not find a place for breakfast first. Wow. We were very impressed. We will be back and looking forward to trying something from their dinner menu in the near future.

We had a lovely and memorable experience at Johnny’s. It’s like going back in time in a positive way – down to earth, local people and reasonably priced. It’s like going to your grandma’s – I loved it. Food is good, our server was wonderful, and the other diners were welcoming. This isn’t corporate dining, it’s family dining.
