Part of a local chain, this family-friendly 1950s-style diner serves classic American comfort fare.

Coming back to this place was a real trip down memory lane. I used to come here after school (and sometimes during school ) back in the late ’90s, so walking in again brought back a lot of great memories.
The clam chowder was awesome—just as comforting as I remembered—and the cheesecake was excellent too. It’s great to see that the food still holds up after all these years.
The atmosphere still has that classic Mel’s diner vibe, and the staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. More than anything, this place reminded me why Mel’s was such a staple back then—classic vibes, familiar flavors, and a timeless feel. Definitely glad I stopped by again.

Dining at Mel’s Drive-In really felt like stepping into a classic American retro diner! I tried the salmon Caesar salad, the wrap, and the fried chicken burger — every dish came in generous portions. The salmon was perfectly seared, tender inside and crisp outside, paired with fresh lettuce and cheese. The wrap with potato salad on the side was creamy and flavorful, while the fried chicken burger was crispy and juicy, complemented by golden fries that were impossible to resist. The staff were friendly, and the food arrived quickly. The whole experience was fun and nostalgic — highly recommended for anyone wanting to enjoy authentic American diner vibes!

Had a solid chicken dinner + experience at Mel’s recently. The detailed decor is a treat to take in with its several snapshots of the restaurant’s history–there are old menus on the wall and functional jukeboxes at many of the booths. Appreciated the exceptional service and hope to come back soon for other menu items.

Solid food. The experience starts on a positive with free parking available so you have options. We were seated immediately upon entering and found the service to be very good. As you can imagine, the setting is very casual, with a 50s / 60s feel to it. The menu is fairly wide for American diner tastes. The drinks and sandwiches are all good and filling. And for what you get, the prices are reasonable. Our meals included Mel’s French dip with fries, a patty melt with fries, a Melburger with potato salad, a smash burger with onion rings, a turkey burger with fries, and a Route 66 burger. We all left stuffed.

I had the short rib dinner plate at Mel’s Drive-In, and it was absolutely delicious! The meat was tender and flavorful —cooked to perfection. The sides were just as satisfying and brought the whole plate together like a true comfort food classic.
On top of the great food, the customer service was excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made me feel right at home. You can tell they care about the experience just as much as the meal. Whether you’re craving something hearty or just want to enjoy a throwback diner vibe with top-notch service, Mel’s is the spot. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Not a big fan of “American drive-in” spots, but stopped by to give it a try. Great old school atmosphere, the burgers looked great, but nothing to write home about, little pricy, but at least parking is as easy as it gets. The real gold is in the Apple Pie! Definitely well made, super recommend!
