I went to Mi Cocina for dinner for the first time expecting a great experience. The food arrived quickly and was fresh and hot. While eating my chicken nachos, I noticed a long, thick black hair underneath the cheese on one of the chips. I removed it and placed it on a plate to show our server, Karol.
When I brought it to her attention, she appeared confused and stated that no one in the kitchen has hair like that, which felt dismissive and implied the hair may have come from us. I made it clear that it was not mine or my fiancé’s and that it was found underneath the cheese in the food.
She then offered several solutions, including a refund, removing the item from the check, or remaking the food. I chose to have the nachos remade and boxed to go. We paid for our meal but did not leave a tip due to the incident and how it was handled.
Afterward, my fiancé accidentally left his phone at the table, and Karol returned it to us, mentioning that the check was not fully completed and asking if we wanted to add a tip. When we declined again, she responded with, “Oh wow, no tip? God bless you,” which felt unprofessional.
While the food itself was good, the situation and the server’s response made this a disappointing experience. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to this location…

OMG!! This place was sooo awesome! We sat on the patio. The atmosphere was great. The service was great and the FOOD!! Lordy, the FOOD! I think that this was the best fajitas that I have ever had it was so freaking delicious! They gave me a LOT, and the price was reasonable! ALBERTO IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!!!! We could not have had a better waiter. Party of 12 and he was so professional, efficient,polite, and knowledgable. We will return simply for the wonderful service we received. Food was great too don’t get me wrong but it was his service that really sealed the deal.

We were on the way home from a long day at the hospital, and decided to get dinner at Mi Cocina. What an absolutely amazing experience. The star of the show was Alberto! He is an amazing waiter! Fun, made us laugh, on point for anything we needed before we asked, and such a personable fella. Would definitely come all the way from Rockwall just to be waited on by him. You will want to ask for ALBERTO when you go to this location. Also, food was on point and piping hot. Thank you Alberto for making it an enjoyable evening!

For a rainy day the place was pretty cozy and enjoyable. Definitely feeling the Christmas vibes too. But that might’ve also been the reason for slow service? Like, taking so long for some to-go boxes, for the check, etc…Not very good when you have a cranky toddler that has their scheduled nap time soon. My main dislike was for the food, specifically the chicken quesadillas that I normally adore. For some reason this time they came with a bunch of charred bits throughout the quesadillas that I had to remove (usually the chicken is not charred? At least from personal experience). My mother also ordered a salad without tortilla chips but they put those anyways. Besides that, same old same old. Would appreciate for next time for these details to be fixed!

Ordered food through door dash. The shrimp brochette entree. The food is NOT good at ALL. First the bacon was raw, the rice devoid of any flavor and tasted like plastic as well as the so called “bean soup”. This is a very poor tasting meal for $30. The menu reads well like the food will be bursting with great combination of flavor, however it is raw, bland, and a huge waste of time and money. Dont do it.

We had a wonderful brunch at Mi Cocina! Our server, Lauren, gave us great recommendations and impeccable service. We started with a mimosa and Mambo Limousine (the margaritas are a must) and then ordered Tacos Mi Tierra and Huevos a la M. Both dishes were packed with flavor and simply divine. I highly recommend this location, and we will certainly be back asking for Lauren!

I had such a wonderful experience celebrating my birthday at Mi Cocina! I went with my family, and from the moment we sat down, our server Amanda made everything perfect. She truly went above and beyond for us — she was attentive, kind, and made sure we had everything we needed the entire time.
