Old Tony’s on the Pier is a classic Southern California spot with a warm, nostalgic atmosphere that never disappoints. The view alone makes it worth the visit—you’re literally sitting right over the water, watching the waves roll in while the sun sets behind the boats. The wait staff was incredibly friendly and attentive from the moment we arrived. Our server made sure drinks were always full and that we had everything we needed.
I brought my father here for his birthday, and the staff made it special with a surprise dessert and a genuine smile. The in-house photographer was also polite and professional, capturing a great photo we’ll keep as a memory. The food was fresh and flavorful—the seafood was cooked perfectly, and the clam chowder was excellent.
Inside, the place has a relaxed 1960s–1970s vibe with signed celebrity photos on the walls, giving it that timeless pier charm. It’s a little tight inside and the restrooms are small, but that adds to the old-school character. Overall, Old Tony’s is a great value for the price and a perfect place for celebrations, date nights, or simply enjoying a classic Redondo Beach experience.

Great atmosphere with the fireplace and ocean view it feels very special. Good value for food. With each main dish you get a soup and a salad. After dinner coffe by the fireplace is our favorite part of experience.

Food was great! We got two lobster tails and a steak ,oysters and clam chowder. Only thing I would skip next time is the clam chowder. Our waiter was super cool. I loved it’s vintage look and atmosphere.

A throwback with a great history and pretty darn good food. The views alone make it worth dropping in. And I’d ask for Rick. He knows where the bodies are buried AND how to tell a good story. Dinner and entertainment in one.

We visited out of curiosity and were fortunate to get a great seat with a stunning ocean view—truly one of the best vantage points to take in Redondo Beach.
Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to the setting. Prices felt steep for what was offered, particularly the $9.50 charge for a bottle of Corona, which came across as excessive. The zucchini was decent, but the shrimp were disappointingly small.
Service was another area that fell short. Our server seemed overwhelmed and wasn’t able to give us much attention, which detracted from the overall experience.
While the view alone is worth a visit, the food and service have room for improvement.

Can’t go wrong with this place! The view can’t be beat and the drinks are strong. They used to let you keep the glass when you order a fire chief, but maybe they were just out when we went because they didn’t have that option on our visit. The bartender was super busy and barely paid attention to us but we weren’t there for the service. Sit back, relax and listen to the live music.

We didn’t use the bathroom, but everything seemed clean. The service was swift, attentive, and pleasant. The chowder was kinda warm, not as tasty as I hoped for, and I would probably skip it next time. The oysters were perfect! The fish and chips were just how my wife likes them, and the fries were hot and fresh. The view is priceless. Thank you.

The place has really gone downhill. The service was excellent! Our server was wonderful! She saved this place from not getting one star review! The food was terrible. The views are wonderful! The tables are grimy and dirty everything feels sticky! The shrimp mac and cheese look like Kraft mac and cheese and it was overcooked. The clam chowder was cheaply made! I was very disappointed because I haven’t been here in many, many years and to see it go downhill like this was very sad!
Please scrub down your tables and chairs, in fact retire them, get new updated furniture! Fire your cook or get him to start cooking properly! You have a gem being located on the pier! Get back to your roots and bring back that great food!

Great restaurant/watering hole nestled in the pier. I’ve spent many nights up in their small bar/observation deck. The crowd is always nice and atmosphere chill. Always a stop for me when I’m in town.

Been several times over the years. The service is always friendly and quick. I have a few souvenir glasses from Fire Chief drinks which are tasty. The smoked salmon chowder was my favorite bite. Ultimately, you go there for the view and vibe.
