Five stars feels almost disrespectful. This place deserves a standing ovation.

Boat Drinks has officially secured its position as one of our absolute favorite spots in St. Augustine, and this was not a casual visit. This was a full culinary celebration.

We started with the lemon pepper shrimp and I can confidently say they set the tone for everything that followed. Perfectly cooked, bright with citrus, kissed with pepper, and deeply flavorful without being overpowering. The kind of dish that makes everyone lean in, grab one more, and then look around the table like, “Okay… we’re in good hands.”

Then the Datil shrimp sliders arrived!!!! Gorgeous and glossy, golden buns hugging sweet-heat shrimp layered over fresh greens. The datil pepper flavor was balanced and bold without being aggressive. Every bite had that perfect harmony of softness, spice, and freshness. We didn’t politely enjoy them. We absolutely gobbled them down. No crumbs left behind.

Two of my friends ordered the chopped salad and it was stunning. Crisp greens, vibrant vegetables, feta, perfectly cooked egg… every ingredient fresh and thoughtfully composed. It was hearty without being heavy, refined without being fussy. A salad that holds its own on a table full of indulgence.

And then there was the Étouffée empanada special. Flaky, golden pastry filled with rich, savory, soulful flavor. It was decadent and comforting at the same time, that deep Louisiana inspired warmth tucked into a perfectly crisp shell. It was the kind of bite that makes you pause mid-convo just to process how good it is. (True story)

Now let’s talk cocktails because Boat Drinks is not playing around….

The house espresso martini is truly next-level. It comes topped with the most delicate homemade whipped crème… impossibly light, airy, and just enough to elevate the entire drink into something extraordinary. The espresso is bold but smooth, the sweetness perfectly restrained. It’s balanced, elegant, and dangerously easy to sip. A masterpiece.

And for what we are happily calling dessert, we all had Mexican martinis. Light, bright, tequila-forward but smooth and blissful. It’s margarita energy refined. Crisp, refreshing, and absolutely our speed. The kind of drink that makes you linger longer than you planned.

The vibe at Boat Drinks is effortless coastal polish. Bright, welcoming, dialed in but never pretentious. It feels like the heartbeat of a modern St. Augustine vibrant, creative, and confident.

Boat Drinks isn’t just serving food and cocktails. They are crafting an experience. Every detail feels intentional. Every flavor feels elevated.

We left already planning our return.

St. Augustine is lucky to have them.

So amazing and a special treat always! Favorite spot for oysters, raw or charbroiled, in town. Either inside or outside, it’s a guaranteed good time. The cocktails are tasty and strong and the staff is so much fun and obviously love their jobs!

Fantastic food and specialty drinks. We visited as part of our trip to St. Augustine’ s, Night of Lights.
Boat Drinks is a bit off the beaten path, but we’ll worth going to. Fantastic service, (shout out to Alex).
Char-broiled oysters were delicious. The sauce was exquisite. Peppered Shrimp and Datil Shrimp Sliders were winners.

Got the chance to stop in for lunch after wanting to go after they moved to their new location. It is awesome! Great vibe inside, they say it on the sign, but it’s a bar, not a restaurant! Definitely more adult friendly overall.

However, food was great, and so was their selection of drinks. We ordered the Datil shrimp sliders and chicken skewers, both were fantastic! Service was great, everyone was super polite and informative.

Highly recommend, will be back again soon!

Boat Drinks is truly a local, family-owned gem and a must-visit for oyster lovers! I thoroughly enjoyed their trio of mixed oysters—Mookie Moto, Queens Cup, and Fire Lake—all fresh, briny, and bursting with flavor. Each was perfectly shucked and served on the half shell with an excellent vinegar-based mignonette and a well-balanced cocktail sauce with just the right kick of horseradish. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the service is attentive without being rushed, and you can tell every detail is handled with care. A fantastic spot to savor top-quality oysters in St. Augustine!

Drove by and the building caught our eye as being just our style; then we saw the rum menu and the rad food menu and did an immediate u-turn to try it. We would kill to have this in Miami where we live; there’s NOTHING this cool there. 10 stars for the no kids policy. 10 stars for the service, I want to be friends with the staff forever. 10 stars for the music.

Being an oyster snob, these are excellent! Stayed in St Augustine for 2 nights, she had oysters here for both nights. They are that good. About a 15 min walk from the center of chaos, Boat Drinks is a very relaxing atmosphere.

Was recommended by our Airbnb host to visit this place. Im glad we went. Its an open seat bar, so just sit anywhere and they’ll come to you. Service is amazing our server was very attentive and brought us everything promptly. Drinks are AMAZING, good flavor and strong as hell. The food is on another level as well, fish fried bites were to die for and the burger , my husband says was mouth watering delicious. We are planning on returning to St. Augustine and will definitely return.

The service was quick and attentive, and the food was fine, but the unexpected extra costs for things usually included in an entree made our experience feel overpriced. It must be said–we didn’t order cocktails, and that’s why a lot of folks come here—maybe this is where Boat Drinks really shines. My husband had a Pickle Beer ($6) and I had a $14 glass of red wine. We came for dinner, and were surprised to walk away with a $160 bill for 6 roasted oysters, some fish dip, two burgers, and a $25 fish sandwich that underwhelmed. There’s an air of nickel and dime-ing that we didn’t appreciate–an extra dollar to get lettuce and tomato on your burger, another dollar for the dressing on your side salad. Again, can’t judge the cocktails, and the atmosphere was nice, but I don’t expect to return.
