Kingfish Grill offers the convenience of plenty of parking and a polished, coastal setting that initially sets the bar high. Unfortunately, the overall experience fell short of those expectations.
Service was the biggest drawback. We waited over 45 minutes for our food, and once it arrived, it was incomplete. I ordered the fresh catch of the day, blackened, but the accompanying Thai spicy sauce never made it to the table. My wife’s poke bowl was served without enough sauce, and when we asked for extra, we were told they had already run out.
Despite reminding our server, the sauces never arrived. After waiting an additional 15 minutes, we ended up finishing our meals as they cooled—still without the promised accompaniments. Sauces may seem like a small detail, but for dishes like blackened fish and poke bowls, they are essential to the overall flavor.
The food itself was average. Not bad by any means, but certainly not memorable. We’ve had far better fish and poke bowls elsewhere, especially for a restaurant positioned as a seafood destination. The best way to describe the meal is upscale fast-casual rather than a standout dining experience.
While Kingfish Grill has potential and a good location, the slow service and lack of attention to detail overshadowed the visit. With improvements in consistency and service, it could be much better—but for now, it didn’t meet our expectations.

I was impressed with the quality of the food.
I ordered “The Shrimp Plater” with fries and coleslaw.
(12) very good decent size shrimp. They were lightly breaded and cooked to perfection!.
The side of fries were very well done and crispy.
And the coleslaw hat, just the right amount of sauce.
The place is a bit pricey $$$… although the food is very good. My server was excellent, she was very attentive and gave good suggestions as well as positive comments regarding the quality of the food served at this restaurant.
I would definitely recommend others to come and eat at this place.

Recently moved into the old Black Molly location. They have done an amazing job with the remodeling. First time visiting here, with a large group. The service was spot on, and the food was very good. Looking forward to our visit next time.

Everything was so good. We had the calamari and it was so delicious, we also had the fried shrimp platter, the ahi tuna and the little one had pasta alfredo, and of course my usual corona with a lime. Everything was awesome from the we got here until we left. You won’t regret coming here to eat.

This restaurant used to be located near Vilano in Saint Augustine. They moved to the cobblestone area into the location where one of my favorite restaurants used to be. The building looks brand new. They extended the building out into the porch, so there is more seating inside and air conditioned. The new tile for is stunning. It’s very open and well done. I sat at the bar because I was by myself and they had the TV closing back-and-forth with the NFL games (Go Bills!!) Justin was great as a bartender and server. I ordered the black and mahi sandwich, which was very tasty! Apparently everybody that’s going is ordering Sauvignon Blanc because they were out. I pivoted and had a Pinot Grigio, which is lovely. The owner was at the bar and greeted me and was very nice. Overall, it was a really great experience and I will definitely be back.

We went out to try this place on opening night – the food was delivered fairly quick- we tried the spinach artichoke dip (it was okay – the bread chips were tasty but had to ask for more to finish the dip) ; my wife tried the chicken picato with mashed potatoes & broccoli- although we had to ask the waitress for the potatoes because her meal came out with rice instead and I ordered the horseradish Mahi with rice & broccoli – none of the food had a wow factor that could justify the price – however the service was outstanding- she even helped us get a better discount- not sure we will be back

It was unexpected, but the sesame Ahi tuna was superb. We went for a late lunch and ended up having our main meal and it was excellent. The staff was very accommodating and we had a wonderful experience. It was our first time at the Kingfish Grill at its new location and the ambience is much different. However, I do believe the food was even better than before.
