Service was good, I can’t remember what our waiters name was but he was nice and very attentive. The service was quick as well, I was impressed! We started off with the pretzel sticks. Those were good! Nice and pillowy with a legit beer cheese dip! I also ordered a cup of the crab mornay stew, which way back when I first looked this place up, was actually why I saved it to my list! And I must say it did not disappoint! Its nice and rich with a pleasant flavor and a generous amount of crab.
For my entree I got the fettuccine vodka Alfredo. That was pretty good! The sauce has nice flavor and so does the chicken scallopini that came with it.
And don’t forget to try their alcohol! The peanut butter white Russian is wonderful!
Appetizer: Pretzel with beer cheese was solid. Good beer cheese and pretzel was baked perfectly
Dinner: surf and turf. Fish was excellent and pulled pork was even better
Dessert: shared the crème brûlée and strawberry shortcake. Hard to choose but one of the best brûlées I’ve had.
I had the Caesar with blackened salmon and it arrived with a seemingly random slice of tomato on the edge of the plate and had a small amount of shredded cheese (like house salad shredded cheese) throughout the dish. When brought to the server’s attention, she explained that the salad comes with the tomato (NOT noted on the menu anywhere) and that the cheeses are next to each other in their pantry so that’s where it must have come from. As someone who has worked in the food service industry, this rubs me the wrong way as excusing the cross contamination (even if they were both cheeses, it raises the question of what else could possibly just end up in a dish it isn’t supposed to be in because they are stored next to each other in the pantry). Neither of these things were a major deal to me and the salad was enjoyable regardless (with the tomato picked off as it was on the lip of the plate and raw tomatoes gross me out haha). Also, the tomato wasn’t touching any of the salad at all, so it really just looked like a random slice of tomato!
I hate to be a tattle tail, but as we waited for our check (we only saw our server a total of 5 times during our entire meal), I did see another server go up to a table next to ours – not her table, clearly they were family or friends of hers – and take a long drink out of one of the alcoholic drinks at the table before saying to the people at the table that “It’s been a long shift”. Didn’t see the name tag, but the server was a young brunette – probably early 20s, with a middle part.
Our server was Angie and she was clearly a busy bee! She was friendly and kind when we did see her.
We dined Saturday 3/7 from 530-630.
The hostesses were all very sweet and clearly had everything under control, they had their process down to an art!
