I come here about once a year with good experiences in the past. Not this time.
Bar service was poor/inattentive with plenty of staff and a half empty bar. Took a while each time I needed something. Couple guys to my right left never being served. Guy to my right left upset.
That the orange peeler fell on the floor and was put back for use was a turn-off.
Attitude was positive though. Tacos were above average. Beer selection is fantastic.

Yum Town
I on occasion over the last several years because this location is convenient to my school and work. But I have to wait a few months between experiences to forget how underwhelmed I always am by the food, and then be reminded that the staff is not super friendly (im not sure if just to me, but I notice it every time.) Maybe they’re just super busy and preoccupied, but that’s my experience regardless of how full the establishment is. If youre eating there, I would stick with something simple like a salad and fries or a chicken sandwich… definitely don’t try the creative cuisines LOL they will be dry and disappointingly bland. I want to love this place! But I just don’t.

Staying in downtown Richmond tonight and stopped in. I had a cup of white bean chicken chili and 5 signature wings – both delicious and the wings had great flavour, not just heat. Huge draft selection and I had a Porter City porter from Chesapeak VA. I always try a local or regional beer when in town. Nice porter. Quick service at the bar. Check it out if you want quality bar food and obviously a huge beer selection. Cocktails I saw looked good and a decent wine selection.

This was our second time coming here and it did not disappoint! The Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese was great as well as our burgers. Love this place (downtown location)! I have tried most the menu and it’s delicious- with their specials always being on point. It’s my go to spot if I’m ever craving a steak. Very yummy. We tried the shrimp tacos and the French dip. Both good. I also really liked the fries, and I am picky with my fries.

I had a great time at *Capital Ale*! I tried the *blue and black steak salad*, and it was delicious—the steak was perfectly cooked, and the flavors of the blue cheese were a fantastic combination. The *chicken tenders* were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, definitely one of the best I’ve had.
For dessert, I couldn’t resist trying the *apple pie*, and it was the perfect way to end the meal—sweet and comforting.
The service was friendly and attentive, though I would recommend coming without a rush.
Overall, a great spot to enjoy hearty food in a relaxed setting. I’ll definitely be back!

I came here on recommendation from a friend. I want to start by saying I was upset to find I needed to pay for parking to eat at a restaurant. I was hopeful the experience would make up for it. The food was really good. Was it worth paying for parking and waiting probably near an hour for? Absolutely not. I don’t ask for much and I’m not some unreasonable complainer. I had a burger and fries. It was brought an eternity later. I had asked for ketchup after receiving the meal and the server said she would be back with it. There were no checkups in between from ordering to receiving food and checks. We finished the meal without kerchup and got the checks. I would’ve liked to not tip at all but I did solely because I didn’t know who exactly was to blame and which server was to be tipped or not. Service was divided between two servers. I expressed my discontentment about the service and got an apology. The second server came by and also offered an apology. We the customers do not care about words when it comes to time and money. We care about action. Nothing was offered beyond two apologies. No partial refund, free dessert to go, gift card, … nothing. I understand you were busy and short staffed. But why did you take us in and sit us if you couldn’t afford to tend to us? It would have been better to tell us there was a long wait and we would’ve went elsewhere. If for some crazy reason I end up at the place again, I will adjust this review if you’ve improved.
