Made a stop for lunch before hitting the beach. Lots of parking, happy, energetic staff, ice cold draft beer! We sat outside on the deck, the Mahi tacos were delicious, and the Rue burger was incredible! Egg on a burger on fries covered in chili and queso? Sooo good! 5 stars all around!!

Had a great experience at Poe’s Tavern. The food was fresh, flavorful and came out just right. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming and was perfect for hanging out and enjoying a good meal.

My husband and I visited Poe’s recently; it was our second time eating there. On this visit, I had the black cat burger and he had the mahi tacos. It was delicious! We both enjoyed the drinks menu, too. Natalie did a wonderful job taking care of us during our meal. We have enjoyed Poe’s when we visit Wilmington!

Went to poes tavern and I was shocked by how great the service was even when they were busy! Ian was great very attentive and kind. Food was phenomenal my wife had better tuna here than an actual seafood restaurant. Their salads and burgers are great and very filling. These guys were great and I highly recommend coming for lunch or dinner!

My boyfriend and I went to Poe’s at Wrightsville after an afternoon at the beach. It was around 5pm so the dinner crowd hadn’t rolled in yet, though our server was lacking in attentiveness. My burger wasn’t great and I actually found a bone in the meat (which I had ordered medium well and it came out nearly bloody), but my boyfriend however, ordered the Black Cat burger and man we’d go back just for that. It was divine. Little bit of chili, onions, cheese and I’m sure some other things, it really hit the spot. It made me wish we’d just ordered the one and split it, and hadn’t wasted money on the other burger. The one I’d chosen had avocado, sour cream, tomato and pickle, and there was no distinct flavor profile I could pick up and enjoy. The fries were ok, rather thin, and my boyfriend enjoyed the potato salad though it was also lacking in flavor in my opinion. The burger with the ketchup on the plate was the one I ordered, and the one with the bowl was the Black Cat (again, so delicious.) they were both super tall / we only ate half of each.

A really nice spot to stop by when coming in on the way to Wrightsville. The drinks are pretty nice and the food is good too! Our bartender was very quick and helpful with guiding us on what to get. My girlfriend and I ended up getting the tale tale heart burger & the hop frog chicken sandwich. I would personally come here right before it gets busy in the evening to avoid wait times. If you’re wanting something that’s heavy and will fill you up this is the spot to go to. Will be trying out the other burgers next time we stop by.

Not only my favorite restaurant in the wrightsville area but also has one of the best staffs I’ve ever met. Specifically Kevin this young man is one of the many reasons my family constantly returns to Poe’s. Poe’s has amazing atmosphere and really cool atheistic. The burgers are great and the staff is kind.

The bar and grill had an awesome theme of Edgar Allen Poe. We were seated right away. Music was playing, but it was at a nice level, as we could still have an enjoyable conversation. Our server was great! I ordered chili and a salad. The chili had the perfect spice and salt was fresh.

Visiting from out of town and this tavern was such a cute, friendly spot. The place was very clean and delicious but the star of the show was definitely our server, Kelsey she was very attentive to our needs and was very informative on the menu and drink selection. We even stayed longer just to chat with her for a while. 10/10 recommend coming in and asking for her!
