Food was to a good standard the tea was fantastic. All in all a great time. Food was on the pricy side but then I think that’s down to location, ingredients was fresh and vibrant and the server mike was an absolute diamond.

Tampopo Manchester is a real treat. The food is absolutely incredible and I am quite fond of the interior too. The restaurant itself is downstairs. They have a very nice vegan/vegetarian selection and the most incredible Churros. Tampopo is the reason I discovered my love for Churros and I am forever grateful for them. The staff here are fantastic and welcoming. My one complaint is the benches, if it’s a particularly busy day you may have to share seating with someone else but that is such a minor problem and the benches do add a real something to the atmosphere and feel of the place. Great food, and I only down rated the atmosphere as we were in there late afternoon and it was quiet – just how we like it! Lovely fresh small and large plate combo which we enjoyed. Lovely friendly staff too. Will definitely return.

The Singapore laksa was a disappointment. Lukewarm when served, tasteless and very watery. Happy hour cocktail (2 for £16) has to be two of the same cocktail and the one we picked was unfortunately way too sweet for our looking.

Ate here last night with my band, and they were able to accommodate a group of 7 as walk-ins which was very appreciated!
It’s the second time I’ve eaten here over the last couple of few months, and both times I had an amazing experience. The place has a lovely vibe, and the food is delicious. I got the pad thai both times, as the first time was that good – it’s my favourite Asian dish, and I’ve had many disappointing ones, but this was superb. The drinks are lovely too, and they have a really nice variety on the menu for both food and drinks. I had the Vietnamese coffee last time, and that was also excellent.
I have to give a special shoutout to our glowing waitress though, who also served me last time I was there with friends in December. 10/10 service!! She’s attentive, engaging, and has a wonderfully vibrant energy. She couldn’t do enough for us and even saved me from my poor selfie skills by offering to take our group photo, which was much appreciated! She deserves a raise!
When I make the trip back over from Dublin next I will be back for sure! Highly recommend this place.

Copied from my TripAdvisor review: We had a first-class meal at Tampopo last week. We went for an early evening dinner before going to a performance at the nearby Bridgewater Hall. We had booked but there were plenty of spaces. We were given a warm welcome and in fact all the staff were very pleasant and helpful. One waiter helpfully pointed out that I should choose a dish of rice or noodles to go with the back pepper stir fry I had selected. I hadn’t realised this from the menu. Little details like that make a big difference. My meal was excellent. My wife had a king pad Thai which she really liked. Our main courses were quite substantial so we needn’t have had o starter, but the pork gyoza that we shared were delicious and it would have been a shame to have missed them. We had jasmine tea to drink. Service was quick and pleasant; our meal came to a little over £53 (including a 10% service charge) which I thought was very good value. It was several years since we had last been to Tampopo. We’ll make an effort to go again before long.

Visited Albert Sq branch last Tuesday early evening for sisters birthday. The restaurant had a lovely buzz about it & was busy but a really great vibe.
Had spoken to Michael earlier on the phone & he was very welcoming to us all. He made our evening!
We were served by a lovely lady as well as Michael sorry forgot her name, she was really friendly & also really welcoming.
The food was incredible A1. We had the £16 January menu, starter, main, side & drink. We expected small plates for that but they weren’t they were normal portions. What a absolute amazing deal. Had enough to take some home.
Michael even arranged a little complementary birthday desert treat & sang happy birthday to my sister which was a lovely gesture.
We had such an amazing time & they made my sisters birthday very memorable.
Thank you so much Michael & all staff for a wonderful evening. We’ll definitely be back.
