Excellent service and delicious food! My family and I stopped here for dinner on a weekend, and we were seated right away. Everyone loved their dish, the stuffed chicken was so flavorful, the salmon was perfectly cooked and the burger was amazing. The french fries were so crispy and fresh!! And the pasta dishes were both nicely balanced flavors and not too heavy of a sauce. I recommend this spot now to anyone tells me they are visiting Big Bear!

My wife and I love fine dining. We thought by the reviews it would be a good idea. We asked for a window seat and they said it would be an additional hour long wait. We waited one hour and were sat in the middle of the restaurant. I tried to move past this hoping for some great food. It was presented well. It wasn’t anything special. The crab cakes were not good. My wife did say the lobster ravioli was good. The restaurant looks nice, but it seems they only treat locals as “VIPs”.

A wonderful dining experience in Big Bear Lake Village! My husband Ray and I had dinner at Peppercorn Grille during our stay, and everything about the evening was exceptional.

This is a cozy, intimate restaurant where you’re meant to slow down, enjoy your time, and truly savor the food — not a quick stop, but a destination.

Ray had the Chinese Chicken Salad, which he loved — especially the candied almonds and the phenomenal dressing. I ordered the Cappellini Pomodoro, and it was outstanding. The Roma tomato sauce was fresh and flavorful, perfectly balanced with Parmesan and served in such a light way that even when I was full, I didn’t want to stop eating.

Our server Tyler was excellent — friendly, knowledgeable, and made great recommendations. The soup of the day was a unique onion soup that was unlike anything I’ve had before and absolutely delicious. His care and attention really elevated the experience.

Five stars without hesitation ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Peppercorn Grille is definitely one of those places you should put on your list when visiting Big Bear — a restaurant we’ll happily return to again and again.

I wasn’t expecting such a bougie restaurant in Big Bear village. It was a bit pricy but it was worth it. Charlie was our server and saying he was friendly and efficient is not doing justice. He was exceptional. There were a couple bumps such as my daughter’s steak had gristle throughout most of the steak but he took care of it and immediately offered a replacement meal (our other 2 steaks were just fine) and my meal came late because the wrong meal was made first. But his service made up for it. The soup and salad was tasty and fresh and the pizza was fresh and delicious. Overall it was a great experience.

We went to Peppercorn Grille after passing by during a walk in the morning and let me just say, it was worth the try!!! We called earlier to join an waitlist and we were able to be seated after about 10-30 mins. Our server, Leticia (I hope I spelled that correctly) was absolutely amazing. She was very kind and amazing and very attentive 🙂 Secondly, the food was way better than we expected. I got the shrimp and scallop linguine and I thought it tasted amazing. The only downside is that I did not have enough space in my stomach to eat everything.

If we ever come back to big bear again for a trip, I would definitely come back.

We were a group of seven who were traveling to BigBear for a ski trip. As we decide last minute for our travel, we were managed to book a 4 person reservation and another three people one. When we got there the place was about half empty but a person who looked like a manager told us that there is no way that tables can be pulled together unless it was a week day. A while after a staff saw our situation and upon asking she told us that it is not a problem, bit short after the “manager” started to talk loudly that i cannot be accommodated. That unreasonable objection aside, Overall the food quality was ok however we preferred if things were a bit less sweet, I had pistachios crusted chicken and my partner had roast beef pasta and but were excessively sweet.

We had dinner Saturday night, we have reserved and was easy to seat. We ordered crab cake and clam chowder to start. Flat iron steak salad, chicken pistachio and halibut as main course. Good wine options, by the glass or bottles. Very good service from the staff.

I enjoyed a satisfying dinner after a relaxing wellness day at Soothing Canna Massage and Wellness. It was an amazing pairing that I highly recommend.

PROS:
Located in the heart of Big Bear village, this rustic, warm, and cozy restaurant provided wonderful amabiance for a Spring evening meal. Hostesses and greeters welcomed us with smiles and friendliness. Our server, Leticia, provided courteous, professional, and knowledgeable service. We ordered the outstanding macademia nut crusted crab cakes with a wonderfully balanced chunky mango salsa. Not since the heyday of Citrone’s in Redlands crab cakes have I delighted so dearly of these crustacean delicacies. The baked brie accompanied with toasted pine nuts, and chipotle rasberry sauce paired deliciously with grilled ciabatta. The freshly baked bread added a nice yeasty element with butter. The entree of pistachio crusted chicken with orange dijon sauce complimented each other sweetly. The buttery sweet potato mash contributed to the nutty tangy protein. I enjoyed dipping the freshly prepared vegetables with the sauce and mash!

CONS:
The salad that comes with the entree seemed like an after thought and definitely did not compare to the freshly made soups. The dishes are slightly overpriced compared to other places with similar food selections. So, the value is not exactly there.

OVERALL:
With a dirge of options at the quality and professionality of Peppercorn Grill in Big Bear, I highly recommend this spot for a wonderful dinner with friends and loved ones.

I have never been to such an amazing place. We had an amazing server by the name of Christian she was so attentive and hospitable. We had amazing cooks by the name Louise and Micardo. The atmosphere was amazing. Such beautiful melodies playing and the atmosphere was phenomenal. I have never had food that has made me cry before. I would a hundred times recommend this place to anybody who wants to have an amazing breathtaking experience with food.

You ever had that coworker who acts busy but really isn’t just so that the rest of the team has to pick up his slack? If we got Zack as our server it would’ve been 4 stars, SMH… but we got Tyler.

We wanted patio seating so our friendly hostess asked if we were willing to wait a few for them to clear the table for us, and we happily obliged, asking her for a glass of water for me while waiting in the front entrance area, which she brought. Once seated, I brought my empty glass and Tyler brought a full glass for my bf, but nothing for me. If he even looked at the empty glass he should have either: 1) replaced my glass with a full one and taken the empty one away or 2) fill my empty one. This isn’t rocket science. At no point during any part of the meal did he do that, despite us requesting several times. He didn’t come by to ask us about our meal. He didn’t take our plates – other staff did.

At the start of our visit we ordered drinks first. Bf ordered the mule, which he enjoyed and I asked for more water. Tyler brought out the mule before taking our order… without my water, nor after I asked again.

So yeah, Tyler gets no star, the food gets 3 stars, and Zack–wherever you are–you’re the unsung hero of this establishment.

Shout out to the other staff who finally took pity on me and filled my glass before I started hallucinating. The nice Latina lady handling the water pitcher asked me about my meal. Hell, they should give Tyler the water pitcher and her the server position. Tyler was nowhere to be seen until end of the meal to ask if we wanted dessert, got the check and nonchalantly threw in a question in passing on how it went when it really was a moot point by then because the meal was already over.

Tyler didn’t tell us the specials (didn’t know they had any until we overheard Zack toward the end of our meal tell the next table). Meanwhile, Zack–serving the table next to us–was out here running the server Olympics. He made conversation with them like they were long-lost cousins, dropped off waters with lemon slices, asked next table if they wanted parmesan on their pasta/salad (Tyler didn’t–he just seems to think pepper is the only condiment or too lazy to carry more than pepper–who puts pepper on salad or lobster ravioli?) Zack basically turned their whole meal into a delightful experience.

Food? Good. I ordered clam chowder and my honey ordered lobster ravioli and house salad with a balsamic vinaigrette. My clam chowder was on the salty side, and bf agreed, but nothing to the extent of being unpalatable. The lobster ravioli was pretty darn good. Salad was salad. Tyler brought out the salad and clam chowder first, automatically placing the salad in front of me without a word. Word? We swapped plates after he left. He just doesn’t do well with communication overall. He’s too busy doing who knows what, it certainly wasn’t serving other tables. For dessert we ordered the Apple tart, warm out of the oven paired with ice cream with a nicely cut strawberry we enjoyed to finish our meal.

Atmosphere? Nice. We got patio seating on a beautiful Labor Day weekend.

Service? Depends on who you get. If you’re lucky enough to land Zack, congratulations–you win. If you get Tyler… pack a water bottle. Next to Zack’s performance, Tyler looked like an understudy who forgot his lines. Would I come back? Sure. But next time, I’m asking for Zack by name.
