Established in 1936, The Sunset Cafe and Loose Wolf Saloon is a family owned and operated full service restaurant and pool lounge. Specializing in scratch and homemade Italian, American, and country style recipes that have been handed down over generations, their menu boasts and wide variety of dishes. Meats are sourced locally through Owens Meats and Glondo’s Sausage Meat Market. Hamburger patties are ground in-house and hand-pressed fresh daily. White, Wheat, Sourdough, and French Roll Breads are baked fresh in-house. We have 2 pool tables in our Lounge and a Touch Tunes Jukebox.

Came on a random Wednesday and it was very busy! Super cute small town cafe with good background music, homemade pies, gluten free options! And the food wasn’t over seasoned for being fried. SOOOO GOOD! Our server was super sweet!

Do you wish to pay 108$ for pure disappointment, are you in for a treat! What joys does it bring when you order a 35$ price rib steak on the Friday special, which is oddly the exact same cost that it is the other 6 days of the week, but picture this… this 35$ cut of prime rib is so lack luster that the slices of turkey in a hungry man meal would absolutely dominate the size of this steak!
But thats not the best thing, if you’re worried that this absolutely amazingly thin sandwich sliced cut of prime rib will burn your tongue, they’ve taken the liberty of letting it get cold for you, its nice of them to pay such attention to safety, after waiting 45+ mins to even be served your drink, getting ignored and walked by 13 dozen times and being in the restaurant approximately an hour and 20 minutes before seeing any food!
I use to love this place, including the prime rib.. but if this is the current quality standard save yourself 108$ and get some 1.99 hungry man meals, get the same quality and satisfaction in the comfort and and sanctity of your own home. Ive never not tipped on 108$ bill, but the 0$ tip you received from me today, was much much greater generosity than was deserved.
I couldnt begin to explain the quality and service of this establishment today, but id only imagine people have enjoyed prison more.

This is what happens when you absolutely, positively DO NOT compromise on quality. First page on their menu states their mission. And there is not 1 lie printed. I had the Eggs Benedict and French toast and when I say it is perhaps the best I’ve ever had, may lightning strike me down if I’m lying. Damn near tried to lick my plates clean. From the first bite of the fresh Idaho potatoes that were absolutely bursting with flavor, to the last spoonfuls of yolk and hollandaise sauce, this very large breakfast had me more than satisfied. The French toast was oh so soft, and the syrup was delicious. I almost wanted to take another to go . Some may say this place is pricier than others, but honestly I couldn’t see it. And when you’re talking about value for the money, there’s no question. You can pay $13 for an egg mcmuffin or spend the extra value to come here and be 100% satisfied. Saving this place in Google for later, I will absolutely be back. Just completely overwhelmed with how good it is. Again, when you do not compromise on quality, it shows.

I can’t imagine any more well-rounded or delicious restaurant in Cle Elum than this place. Everything we had was exceptionally delicious. The salad was on point. The garlic bread was unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. The loaded mashed potatoes were pretty good, but not exceptional. The prime rib was phenomenally delicious. The server was great. The place was very clean. The banana pie was pretty good. I think there was cream cheese on the bottom of the banana pie filling.

They were out of the prime rib so I got the chicken dinner, came with two sides and a roll. I chose the loaded baked potato and sautéed veggies. Comes with a roll covered in garlic butter… I could have eaten 5 of them and called that dinner. But the chicken and sides were fantastic. Huge portion and tasted like grandma made Sunday dinner. Can’t wait to come when they’re not out of prime rib, a good excuse to come back 🙂

The burgers were good. Really liked the beef too. I just wish I could have tried the delicious looking bakery item and pie. There was all kinds. Someone knows how to cook. The ladies were nice and friendly. Great service .
Prices were a somewhat spendy but normal (I believe) for this area. ??? We also did get senior discounts without even having to ask if they gave one. THANK YOU ❤️
Couldn’t believe how huge the place really is. WOW!!!! Room for lots of people. Great way to have private meetings, get-togethers, birthdays, etc…without bothering other customers.

I had a 3-day offsite meeting at Suncadia and had the Sunset Cafe cater four meals for my team of about 20. Misty, their manager was so timely, accommodating and friendly. The food was great. I’ll come back whenever I’m in town.

4.5. Classic homey feel with some delicious grub. Nearly all of their food is homemade, including a huge case of tasty and creative pies. Service is super friendly and quick. Would definitely recommend stopping in some time, even if just for a quick bite!
