We are a sports bar and grill serving up a touch of the key west from the Midwest. We offer 3 stories of fun at Mateys. On our first floor we have a sports bar and game room with a covered outdoor patio area. Our two levels of rooftop bars offer spectacular views of Lake Michigan. We are now smoke free and offer family dining!

1st time visitor to Michigan city and decided to go check out the lighthouse. Afterwards we were looking for a good place to eat and stumbled into Matey’s. Service was great, got our drink order and answered all our questions. 2 of us had burgers and fries, 1 had the soft shell blue crab sandwich and I had the Grouper entre blackened. We also had the bam bam shrimp for an appetizer. The whole experience was great! Drinks tasted great the food was phenomenal and the view we had was pretty good as well. The food and drinks in my opinion were reasonably priced.

Stopped in here with a trip up north this past week. We really enjoyed this restaurant and would come back again. This restuarant has a large drink menu and lots of good seafood entree options. Unfortunately, they were out of the risotto when we visited, we got the Mac n Cheese and Grouper Sandwich. Our waiter, Michael was super nice and gave us 50% one of the dishes for arriving late.

Stopped here after a trip to the beach last week and Aubrey was incredible! Gave amazing service despite being clearly understaffed. The food was decent, could’ve used more seasoning but overall fine. I did have an issue with my fish tacos, but Aubrey was so sweet and took care of it for me. I likely wouldn’t come back here if not for the great service – the food was fine but that alone wouldn’t have brought me back, but Aubrey would!

My Friend Absolutely loves this place. Whenever We are in town We have to go here. I gotta tell Ya, they do have great food and great views from up top outside. The Cheeseburgers and Fries are really good. Service and atmosphere is also exceptional. We just recently brought another Friend of Ours there and They loved it too. Try Em out and see what You think.

Mateys Restaurant in Michigan City is an awesome spot! My friends and I loved it there—the atmosphere was super fun, and the staff was incredibly friendly. We tried the chicken wings, onion rings, and chips with salsa, and everything was on point. The drinks were even better—the beer was cold and refreshing, the cocktails were amazing, and the complimentary apple pie shots were a nice surprise. With its cool vibe and great views of Lake Michigan, Mateys is the perfect place for a night out. We can’t wait to go back!

Very unique sandwich options and the drinks were spectacular. The fried pickles have a very flavorful breading and were very tasty. Being from out of town, our waiter gave us a list of recommendations of things to do and we really appreciated his hospitality! The outdoor seating was awesome too. They separate the family friendly area from an over 21 area and we enjoyed that too.

Wonderful wait staff, bussers are moving quickly and the food is top notch and fresh. Great menu! Suggest grilled pineapple with sauce on the side! And the best part, live music and dog friendly. Can’t beat that on a summer night!
