It’s been at least 10-15 years since I’ve last been to Stookey’s and was so nice to return for a special occasion. They immediately took me back to the room where party was being held. The onion rings were just as good as I remember (very crispy and thin!) Tried the catfish and was not disappointed; everyone who ordered ribeye said it was delicious too. We enjoyed a wonderful night with friends and family and greatly appreciate the wait staff who made it possible.

Tonight I had the three piece catfish dinner with baked potato and salad. Special price was $17.99. It was delicious. My wife had the 8oz filet with baked potato and cottage cheese with pineapple. Hers was also a special for $24.99. All of the food was delicious. I also had a piece of their sugar cream pie for dessert. All the food was cooked perfectly. The service at Stookey’s is also always excellent. In order to save room for dessert, I had to bring home 1/2 of my potato and one of my catfish. So I still have another dinner too! We love Stookey’s.

Going in it seems like this place is the small town gem. The staff is largely friendly and good. The onion rings come. They’re great. Light breading on light onion. Then the catfish. Not the most flavorful but good enough. Not sure about the hype though. Hash browns as a side though. They were surprisingly great! Then there is the bourbon situation. When you go into the lounge side you will see a plethora of rare, fantastic bourbon. However this apparently is the owners private selection and basically off-limits unless he’s in the mood. So while you can see great bourbon you’re left with a regular selection. Not bad just bizarre. I would go back but with experience in mind I would do a little different.

This is a hometown family restaurant and bar with a small banquet room. We had pork tenderloin sandwiches with onion rings. Both were spectacular! The onions rings were likely the best I have ever had. I don’t say that lightly. They were amazing! The waitress was also great. She was helpful and attentive without hovering. It’s our local go to food spot. That creates excellent service feeling like family. Which creates an awesome atmosphere even for out of towners to feel welcome. That being said, there isn’t a lot of change, so when we arrive we plan on ordering our fav since we have tried it all.

Excellent breaded and grilled tenderloins. Nice thin, light breading.
2 of us thought it could use more seasoning but my mom thought it was perfect 5 out of 5 stars.
Service was excellent with everything wrapped in foil by request and the sandwiches cut in half.
I like my fries crispier. would definitely eat here again.

We stopped here for dinner this evening, and overall were pleased! We ordered the sampler apprtizer; tenderloin and fries; cheeseburger and fries; and a piece of key lime pie. The food was all well prepared and tasty, the portions for the appetizer, sandwiches and fries were large and appropriately priced. Our server, Mikaela (I’m sorry if I spelled it wrong) was friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and added to the experience in a positive manner. The only drawback is that for the price of the key lime pie, it was an extremely small portion.

Was a little crazy. If your driving by stop and see. Don’t go out of your way to see it. It cost $10 per person and made no sense except one man’s creations. If he place them in groups to make since would of been better.
