Our party of 8 met here for dinner on a weeknight, and everything about the meal was enjoyable. The server was friendly and knowledgeable and knew the menu well, the lighting was low and warm, and the food was quite delicious. The wine list is pricey but has a very good selection, and you need a nice red for that tasty steak or prime rib. A good place for a special meal. Reservations are recommended.

My husband and I did not have a reservation, so we had to wait for about 30 minutes on a Friday night. The bartenders and servers were all really good at their jobs. The restaurant was packed. There was a man in the corner of the bar area playing guitar. I enjoyed the live music. He did stop playing about halfway through our meal. I guess his time was over. You can tell who the locals are. The bartenders and servers already knew their orders when the person sat down.
I had the filet with mashed sweet potato, husband had the chicken fettuccine. The potato skins were delicious. We had them as an appetizer. Our adult beverages were tasty. This place is nice, and it does cost a bit more than a chain restaurant would have cost. Your paying for the experience though.

This is an amazing place when visiting Bunner Elk. Food is really delicious, so are the drinks. Stuff is very friendly, nice decor too. Dine there twice during our 4 day stay. The only negative comment would be a bathroom situation. Definitely would come back when visiting next time.

Giving two stars only because the waitor we had was such a great guy!! It was the guy with black hair and tattoos! He made it worth the visit but unfortunately the food was not good at all. I was trying to give the benefit of the doubt but when paying almost $200 for a meal I just feel it’s necessary to explain my concerns. I think the cook took the reviews about things being “unseasoned” too seriously bc we ordered filet mignon and it tasted like it was dumped in salt. We also both asked for medium rare and it was extremely rare. The asparagus was barely cooked and tasted like it just got out the grocery store and right on our plate, We did return that but didn’t want to be rude and return the steak too. We tried to keep giving the cooks the benefit of the doubt and ordered the cinnamon bread pudding as well but unfortunately another disappointment. The waitor saved yall and still of course gave him a great tip bc it wasn’t his fault, it seems like there a lot of potential with this place if there were just cooks who took more pride in what they were making. The wait wasn’t long, we got refills every few minutes and the salad bar was awesome. Just unfortunate especially due to the fact this was one of the first places I’ve had to put my card on file to hold a reservation and assumed maybe because just how busy and booked this place gets. (Also added it was for a bday when the site says what’s the celebration but seems like it didn’t matter what the celebration was bc nothing was said about it) I just think the owner needs to find some new cooks bc after reading this review this seems to be a recurring issue and sometimes the waiters and waitresses have to deal with the consequences.

I have been here twice. Both times I ordered the Prime Rib, which has limited availability. I ordered it medium rare. The first time the steak was tender and flavorful. You can get horseradish, horseradish cream or au jus. The second time the steak was tough and had too much fat for the price of a king cut. The baked potato was prepared well. Stonewall’s offers a good selection of desserts. I recommend the key lime pie, creme brulee and salted caramel brownie sundae.
Overall an average steakhouse. They also do not accommodate larger parties without an expensive down payment. The atmosphere is the main draw to Stonewall’s

My family and I go to Stonewalls every time we’re in the area and this time was exceptional. Yvonne took care of us and was one of the best we’ve had here. She gave honest recommendations and took excellent care of us, we didn’t need to ask for anything once she was always there with refills and clearing plates before we could even ask. The food was absolutely delicious from our spinach dip and deviled egg appetizers, to the grilled shrimp dinner and cinnamon roll bread pudding. My sister got the prime rib which was leaps and bounds above the prime rib we had the night before from Outback Steakhouse. If you’re looking for amazing food, atmosphere, and service definitely go here and ask for Yvonne. My family will definitely be back for the food but especially for Yvonne.

We just left. Jessica B was our server who is an absolute doll. Attentive without being overbearing. Perfect service. A 12/10. Food was spot on. Everything was lovely. Thank you for a great evening as usual. A real gem in Banner Elk.

We had a wonderful dinner at Stonewalls Restaurant, and the experience was elevated by exceptional service from the team.
Grace was absolutely on it from the moment we sat down—attentive, quick, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely warm. She anticipated our needs, kept everything flowing smoothly, and made us feel truly welcome. Her energy and professionalism were top-notch.
Mike was also excellent, even though we could tell he was a bit nervous (perhaps newer or having an off moment). Despite that, he was polite, thorough, and clearly gave 100%—he handled our orders perfectly, checked in appropriately, and delivered everything with care. His effort stood out and made the service feel personal.
The food was delicious, the atmosphere cozy, and the whole visit felt like a highlight of our trip. Grace and Mike turned a good meal into a great one—highly recommend Stonewalls, especially when these two are working!
We’ve been four times previously and we’ll definitely be back again.

Visiting the area to ski at Sugar MTN. Restaurant was only a 7 minute drive from hotel. Searched fine dining and decided on Stonewall’s. First night had French onion soup and Ribeye steak with Sweet Mash potatoes. Second night had beet salad and bone in pork chop with creamed spinach. Service was great for a solo diner. Hostess were very friendly and remembered me from the night before and sat me at the same table I sat at the previous night. I definitely come back next ski season. Good location great food
