We finally got a chance to try this place out. Moved to the area 4 years ago and have Mondays on but they are closed Mondays. Our server Rachel R was great. Attentive, friendly and helpful with the menu. The hostess that seated us was friendly. We got a pizza, a cup of wedding soup and a salad. The food was great and the prices of food and drinks were very reasonable. We will definitely be going back. Pics are after we started eating.

Monte Cello’s is a good local spot to get all the Italian food you could want. We had a few dinners and thought it was all good. My favorite was the chicken Parmesan. The portions are also huge so expect to have leftovers.

It’s definitely a nice spot for family meals in a setting that is both a bit higher end, while retaining a level of comfortability. I end up here every now and again because both my in laws (from the area) and my parents (from Ohio) enjoy taking my kids to there to eat, as the little ones always enjoy their food and the large dining room is normally big and packed enough to get away with a bit of extra noise and the occasional clanging of silverware.

The food, for me, is a touch hit or miss, as I’ve had some items that are notably above average for similar American Italian in the surrounding area, while other dishes have only been ok. But I have never had anything bad in my times there, and the prices feel fair for the area and what you are getting. The staff is also always nice and thoroughly accommodating, which is always a big plus.

The best there is! You only stick around this long when you do things right. When your employees stick around for decades, that says a lot about the owners. You can’t go wrong. Try the triple hand breaded provolone wedges.

They also do private parties and catering.

We recently had my daughter’s baptism reception in the Ross Township location. We didn’t know what to expect as we have never dined with them in the past. To my delight, everything turned out really well.

Ashley whom I think is the banquet event coordinator did a phenomenal job. I also left decorations the night before in her office, and she placed them where I envisioned it to be.

Rachel who was our server that day, she did a fantastic job in keeping up with all the guests. Also Ashley was always there to support her throughout the entire service.

Also, the food was delicious. Everyone talked about how good they were even as leftovers the following day. This might be our place now for all our future events.

Thank you for the wonderful service.

Montecellos is a North Hills staple. They have been around for decades (previously located on McKnight Rd in the 80s and 90s) and this location is large, spacious, and typically clean. They serve decent no-frills Italian food.
If you can get a seat by the fireplace during the Holidays, that is truly the best seat in the house, very cozy…. but the other side (sports bar side) is also great for game night. The pizza and calzones are excellent, and the featured dinners are also good ~ large portions, consistent, no-frills Italian food… I say “no frills” because It’s not fancy or fine dining or anything (similar Olive Garden or the old Italian Oven) but it’s always consistent, tasty, served hot and very filling!! The salads are also quite large and well dressed. I recommend the antipasti salad (ham, salami, egg, provolone cheese, pepperoncini, olives, etc…) and folks seem to really like their wedding soup. Several appetizers to choose from and even the picky-kid in your family should be happy here.
(yes, they have a child’s menu)

I highly recommend this place for family dinner night or larger parties. The service is typically very good, cant remember ever having a bad or grumpy server here. Be advised, this restaurant is VERY POPULAR, especially with area seniors, so there will often be a 20+ minute wait at dinner-rush (5-7p) on the weekends… but they tend to cycle tables quickly and its a large restaurant (30+ tables) I would say the real “gem” here is the pizzas and calzones!! Good thin crispy crust, tangy sauce, well cheesed, plentiful toppings. Try it, you’ll like it.

We traveled to North Hills to go to Monte Cello’s since the service is usually good! This trip the service was poor. We called ahead to get on the wait list. She said no list from 4-8 PM and currently no waiting. We got there 15 minutes later. We had to wait 10 – 15 minutes for a seat. Our meals were not correct, so slowly and carefully explain everything while ordering and pay cash since they now charge for credit cards. Server rushed through orders too fast.

Excellent food and service. The pepperoni rolls were a delicious appetizer , a generous serving with a side of pizza sauce. The chicken-broccoli fettuccini Alfredo was outstanding, possibly the best tasting Alfredo sauce I’ve ever had, in a very large serving that could easily be split into two portions if you want to take home your next day’s lunch. If I lived in the area I would be a regular here.

Visited for a family dinner. Centrally located between us. We had 8 in our party, seated easily.
The server was terrific. The service was pretty good for how busy it was. Food was hot and served in a reasonable amount of time.
The dining room was fairly warm, most of the customers had that complaint. Otherwise, it is a solid choice for homestyle Italian
