Probably my fifth visit over the last 10 years. You’ll love the menu here if you are looking for midwest comfort food. No frills, filling, good portions, high calorie goodness. Fairly large selection for breakfast, sandwiches and burgers. Dinner has enough options to cover the basses and daily specials.

The quality is always high for what they offer. It’s basic and low on seasoning, if any, but you’re going to get exactly what you expect.

I ordered the Cajun hash browns with hollandaise sauce. Zero spice, no heat at all. Best comparison is waffle house with incredible hollandaise. I knew it would probably be that, so I was not disappointed. Just know the style of the menu.

Coffee is better than most. Fries are thick and tasty. Pancakes are as big as your face. Ruben’s and grilled sandwiches are excellent. Lots of options on toast. They are pros with eggs too.

If you are looking for healthy, modern, gluten-free or low fat… Don’t bother

Locals are always here and that is the customer base. Expect to be waiting for a table and the place is kinda small. The crowd does move quick because they are there for food and not to socialize. If the staff is swamped they do forget to set up tables, or you might have to flag them down for a refill. Don’t expect a lot of personal attention unless you want to chat about the local events. Definitely a friendly staff, but I’ve never been there at a slow time.

A typical local restaurant you will see in a farming community.

Definitely will not be disappointed if you drop in for a visit.

Biscuits and gravy came out cold.

I could taste the burnt oil on the eggs.

I didn’t want to say anything because I didn’t want to wait for a new meal because the food took a while to get to our table. Also, the server never stopped and asked how the food was and she never pre-bussed our table. I left her a good tip because I was a server for many years but this experience was not great. We won’t be back.

Edit: Was still burping up old oil hours later.

Edit: I have dined here about three times before and it was good. Cold food and long wait times for food is no good at any restaurant.

Never again.

Cute diner. They were busy on a Monday at 4:30pm which surprised me, but they sat me right away. The servers obviously know their regulars, and were extremely kind and patient I noticed when dealing with those that are hard of hearing, and when another party spilled their drink it was handled with utmost professionalism.

They have breakfast all day and by God this is one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in years. I asked how they did their bacon, and they said they could do whatever I wanted. The portions were generous and modestly priced. They had multiple variants of hot sauce on the table. Over easy eggs were textbook perfection.

This place is an hour out of my way usually but I will probably come back out here just for this. 10/10

Great little hole in the wall diner. One of the earliest to open in town. Good food, good service. Definitely a place that locals go to.

It would be nice to have the option to add extra meat and extra gravy to the commercial beef. The barbecue sauce on the traditional chicken wings was divine. Yum. I will definitely order that again! I want a bottle of that stuff.

We stopped here on a Saturday morning and there were people standing outside so I got a little excited at what I would be in for. I didn’t mind waiting. It’s usually the sign of a great experience. This place looks nostalgic which I love. To keep up with the crowds they sit tables so close together you can’t move. I had 2 in my party and we were sat in a table that was shoved together for 4 with another couple and the table next to me (separated) was so close her leg brushed against mine. The wait staff couldn’t get thru- they handed things over heads. It took a very long time to get water, coffee or give an order. The staff was super friendly and when they finally got there I enjoyed the exchange and they were extremely accurate with the order: the food didn’t take any time to arrive. Unfortunately utensils did. We sat for quite a while trying to get their attention while our hot breakfasts cooled. When we got our utensils the food was good. It wasn’t the perfect breakfast I was expecting from the build up. The hash browns were average. They appeared to be canned or dried and fried. The sausage gravy was canned. The eggs were cooked perfectly To he coffee was pretty good too. I’m glad I went because it’s a part of history I was excited to experience. I may try again when it’s not so crowded.

This used to be a great little restaurant but the attitude and attentiveness of the staff has gone downhill. Last few times in the food has been just mediocre and cold. Would not recommend anymore!! Go down the street to Ruby’s, it’s pretty darn good and awesome service

Wampach’s is one of those rare local spots that lives up to the hype—and then some. You can tell it’s beloved by the community, and once you eat there, you’ll understand why.

The food is incredibly flavorful and hits the table quickly, making it a great choice whether you’re grabbing breakfast or lunch. The menu offers classic comfort food done right, with generous portions that’ll leave you full and satisfied. Definitely come hungry—you won’t leave that way.

The staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming, adding to the homey, down-to-earth atmosphere. It does get busy during peak meal times, so expect a bit of a wait, but it’s worth it.

Parking can be a bit of a challenge with limited spaces, so plan accordingly. Also, be sure to bring cash to avoid the small upcharge for using a credit card.
