Down home BBQ! We felt like we were stepping into a long history of BBQ visiting this spot. Everyone one so friendly and the place was simple. They focus on the prize the BBQ Our favorites were the ribs, okra, coleslaw and baked beans yuuummm! The sweet tea is extra sweet and the waitresses are too.

First time we’ve had their food. We got the ribs, chicken, lima beans and fried oysters. The chicken was for me and it was 100% not fully cooked. The oysters were also for me and they were fishy. I prefer raw but will order fried too. And these just didn’t taste or look right on the inside. I really hope they were fully cooked because I did eat 1 of them. We threw all of it away as I am pregnant. The Lima beans had no flavor at all. Didn’t taste like any seasoning was on them or if they were even cooked in a broth. The toast was just… disappointing. It wasn’t Texas toast. Not sure if it was supposed to be, but they were also flavorless. The corn was gummy. Neither one of us liked that either. My husbands ribs were just fine. It was the only thing we could eat out of our order. We ended up ordering food from somewhere else.

Horrible! I don’t know what this is. It’s definitely not brisket and turkey. I will never order from here again. Oh and the meat didn’t have ANY grill scent.

This place is absolutely AMAZING and a must try for everyone living near & far. At ‘The Pig’ you are greeted immediately upon entrance and within minutes someone is at your table to take your order. You never have to guess what your server is doing because the restaurant is small and an intimate space where conversations, laughter, light banter, host taking orders, other guests being greeted as they enter are overheard. But NOT in a distracting manner; instead it sounds like love and community! Needless to say if the atmosphere is that great then the food was just as delicious. I stopped to have dinner after 8:30pm, which was near closing time, but they still made sure my order was accurate, the food was hot and every piece of sausage, rib, macaroni and coleslaw was just as tasty as it was when they first opened up. I used to eat here often 7 yrs. ago and I just returned last on night and I’m so grateful that in my opinion this place is still one of the best BBQ joints in Jacksonville. I pray that God continues to bless your business; management that controls it, the workers that sustain it and every patron that enters your doors.

I eat lunch here at least once a week. The service is always great. The food comes out hot, fresh, and fast every time. The prices are low compared to most bbq restaurants. I would give mores stars if I could. Don’t sleep on The Pig BBQ!

We went for lunch. Locals vibe. Friendly service. Very economical. Daily lunch specials. French fries were piping hot. Kids had chicken tenders and turkey sandwich and the sides were Mac n’cheese and Lima beans. Also ordered the pulled pork sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy and limas. Sides were not very seasoned. BBQ sauce was good. Pulled pork was nicely chopped and not too fatty. .

Got a side salad, fried okra, baked beans, coleslaw, collard greens with a large beef sandwich. All was good. Really liked the greens. The beef was a little dry. Liked the mustard sauce more than most other places. The staff were kind and helpful. The web menu lists a BBQ sampler but it’s no longer offered.

I come for a salad.. yall are drying the chicken out wayyyyy too much. I know it’s supposed to be smoked or whatever, it’s awful. I was telling my husband and he said, just use the dressing and it’s fine! I usually get turkey but he doesn’t like that since he believes it’s processed. Come on now yall! I don’t expect gourmet but I do expect good enough to eat.
