On a recent visit with my mom, we were both craving seafood. I found a local spot and we decided to try it. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and seated by two friendly ladies. The menu offered a great variety, but I had my heart set on catfish pieces, which did not disappoint. The meal came with unique, onion ring-shaped hush puppies that were absolutely delicious. I also appreciated the choice between two different types of coleslaw. The staff was wonderful, the portions were generous and satisfying, and I’ll definitely be returning.

We literally just walked out the resturant and as we were paying. A black couple came in. The hostess cleaned off the table we were at to seat the couple. There were several other tables and booths at the back of the restaurant, but they’re were all white people. We came in and there was a black couple in the area she sat us. The next was a white couple and they went where other whites were sitting. Then another black couple, she sat two booths over from us. Next there was a Hispanic groups that she sat next to us bc they were cleaning one of the bigger tables in the back, but they’re could have gone to the middle but it would have been too close to the whites. Next another group of blacks. She sat behind us. She literally made that last couple stand and wait on the table she cleaned so they could sit there instead of seating them in the area where there were no blacks. I took photos because Lo would have not believed it if someone else hadn’t mentioned it. So we waited to see. I lost my appetite so we boxed our food and left. I uploaded some of the photos. I couldn’t get the people behind me. The couple at the door was waiting to be seated at our table when she could have placed them elsewhere.

The food tasted good, but I thought the salad could have been a bit bigger. The service was a little slow, but it was a busy day. All the staff seemed to come together and help everyone out (but this sometimes was confusing like when I asked for a to go box, one lady gave me a cup for my drink and we waited a while for the box. She thought another worker was giving it to us)

I hadn’t been to a Mayflower’s Sesfood since I left my hometown of Winston-Salem. Eating here brought back good memories. the food was good. Service was great especially seeing that I came in and sat to eat 30 minutes before closing. they served me well. Food came out quick and hot . Loved it. I will good again.

But yessssss, please “salt & pepper” both our dinners. The hushpuppies are delicious fresh and hot and the serving sizes/portions are great for the price. Staff is friendly and it doesn’t take a long time to be seated, waited on or to get your food.

I ate here today with my wife and some friends and she had the jumbo deep fried shrimp and it was really good. The hush puppies were really good salad was pretty good. I had the flounder dinner and it was over cooked. A friend of ours had broiled shrimp and she said hers was over cooked also. Greek chicken was also overcooked. The portions are huge. Sweet potato was yummy. Service was slow. It took forever to get refills on drinks. Prices good.

My family decided we would get mayflower since it’s been a while. I did a take out order and went to order I always get flounder with white side only and they informed me they didn’t have any white side and the lady at the register more or less said I had to deal with it it’s all the same and I informed her it’s not all the same and I thought it was completely rude!!! I also ordered 2 large orders of hush puppies and they put them all in one box when I check my bag so I ask for another box cause that’s why I ordered 2 separate boxes they were going to 2 different places so she took the box and separated them and when I tell you this I would have gotten more hush puppies if I had ate inside! So when I said something about it she said oh that is a large u only get 12 hush puppies ! So I have attached a picture of the hush puppies that were fried and then refried they were so tough! I have always had a great experience at mayflower but this time was horrible!! The small blond lady that works the take out is just a rude and disrespectful person! That’s why I rated with a one star! Not sure if I’ll be back or not! I would really like to talk to a manager or person in charge! People work to hard for there money to pay for food and get disrespected!!!

This Mayflower location was not as packed as it normally is, but it has been quite a while since we’ve eaten here. Our plates were full for the price and the food was very fresh. Although prices have went up, I’d eat here again.

I use to go to this restaurant all the time and I use to love the food but the last experience at this restaurant was awful. The meal I ordered was not fresh the onion rings and fried clams sat around for a while. Then there was a strange waitress or whatever she supposed to be was standing in takeout just staring with a weird grin on her face. Which made me feel uncomfortable. I should have just gotten a refund and left. This is the last time going to this restaurant after being a loyal customer for years. So much for customer service.

I used to love this place when I lived in Concord around 10-11 years ago when it was the older location they tore down. I was visiting a friend this weekend and we dined in for lunch. Service was great, but the food quality was poor. I always order the popcorn shrimp, and usually it’s fantastic. This time, the shrimp wouldn’t even hold the breaded coating. The shrimp tasted old and I may have eaten 5 pieces before putting my fork down. My friends white fish was the same. It tasted awful and he ate less than half. For an overall bill around 40.00 for lunch for two people, it was very disappointing to say the least. I definitely have no plans to visit again in the near future.
