Dear Hungry Reader, tell me true: do you love yourself? Do you believe you deserve culinary wonders and delights?

If you really and truly love yourself and believe that you deserve good – nay, great! – things, then you need to check out Phat Eatery.

My wife and I came on the recommendation of a friend and were enraptured by the experience. The vibe inside is immaculate: tasteful and thematically appropriate neon signage decorated a clean, dark industrial scape that is comfortable. The wait staff is also fantastic, especially Irene, who deftly walked us through flavor profiles and spice levels.

But lost crucially, of course, was the food. We started with the steamed pork buns, which were out of this world yummy – the buns were soft and light and luscious, the filling savory goodness. My wife tried the Malaysian Chicken Curry, which was spectacular; I ordered the Sizzling Black Pepper Beef (2nd spice level, Serrano), which is presented very similar to fajitas. We shared the most buttery roti I’ve ever consumed.

It suffices to say that we had a wonderful dining experience from top to bottom, and when we return to Katy in the future, we will be exploring more of the magnificent menu (and asking for Irene).

The food here was truly exceptional, a delightful fusion of Asian cuisines. From Chinese-style dim-sum to Malaysian-inspired fried rice and Indian curry, each dish was bursting with flavor and savory goodness. A quick note: the dishes were slightly salty, but that was perfectly balanced by the special fish or shrimp sauce.

The service was impeccable, with well-trained and incredibly friendly staff. The store itself was well-decorated with an industrial style, and it was spotlessly clean. I highly recommend trying the Malaysian fried rice and the basil beef (with a reduced amount of salt).

Well worth the 40 minute wait. This was my first time with friends so we ordered family style. Service was excellent, food was incredible, and aside from a pandan drink being very sweet, I went home super happy with leftovers. I didn’t know it was an award winning restaurant but it makes sense.

Award winning restaurant for a good reasons.

Service and atmosphere:
Outstanding service from get go. Our server was polite, friendly and very knowledgeable about food on a menu. She helped us decide on our dishes selection by recommendations.
The restaurant was clean, structured, very modern and comfortable. Open bar area in the middle is very nice.

Food and drinks:
Delicious and well thought through dishes. Traditional selections with fragrant ingredients and seasonings.
All of that gave the food authenticity test. The portions were generous.
Big selection of various beverages to choose from.

Pricing:
$$ – super worth it and we will be coming back to dine in here again.

Really enjoyed Phat Eatery. The Roti Chennai was properly spicy in a good way and tasted authentic. The satay was well flavoured and came with the usual cucumber and onion, but was a bit dry.

The mee goreng was the highlight: very fragrant, lots of veggies, clearly cooked in a hot wok. It genuinely tasted like something you’d eat in Malaysia—bold, hot, and visually appealing.

Only minor gripe was the service; getting the waiter’s attention was a bit slow. Food more than made up for it though.

Absolutely delicious. We ordered the Nasi lemak and roti Canai and mango shrimp. The presentation of the Nasi lemak was different than what I’m used to in Malaysia, but it was a nice change and probably the best presentation of Nasi lemak i have seen.

This place, once hailed as one of the best restaurants in town and even winning awards, has unfortunately lost its luster. I had to return the meat curry because it was an impossible task to chew. The meat was tough and greasy, and despite the waiter’s claim that it was their most popular dish, her attitude was unpleasant when I expressed my difficulty in eating it. I’m definitely not returning to this restaurant. On the bright side, the rotini and white rice were good.

We enjoyed our meal here tonight! Standouts were the sizzling tofu and Hainan chicken. The noodles and fried rice fell short of expectations but overall a good meal. Service was incredible.

This my first visit here. I have read so many reviews raving about this place. It did not disappoint. The location is easy to access. Plenty of free parking. The place is clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. The staff are excellent, attentive, helpful, and polite.
The food were tasty, inventive, and the menu is original and inventive. The price reflects its premium status. I sat at their busy bar and yet, the service was quick and attentive.
I will be coming here again for sure.
