A nice little Thai restaurant tucked within an industrial area in Cheras. It’s giving traditional kampung vibes with all the wooden structure in the restaurant. Food was served really quickly after we ordered.
I think there’s some hits and some misses. The fried egg omelette, fried fish cake, nameless fried chicken and steamed fish with ginger lime were really good. The misses were the deep fried squid, kang kung belachan and seafood tom yam soup. The squid had too much batter to it. The kang Kung was missing a bit of spicy kick to it. And the tom yam was a bit sweet for our taste. Nevertheless, all the seafood was really fresh.

I recently had the chance to lunch at Khunthai Village Thai Restaurant in Cheras, and it was a truly satisfying experience.
Food & Portion
We ordered Set A (RM388 for 10 pax), which came with a great variety of dishes such as seafood tomyam, pandan chicken, cha oong omelette, deep fried/steamed fish, mixed vegetables, lemon scallop sotong & lala, kerabu papaya, prawn fritter, and Thai fish cake.
The portion sizes were generous, perfect for sharing with a big group. Every dish tasted fresh and authentic, staying true to Thai flavors — spicy, tangy, and rich. Personally, I really enjoyed the omelette, seafood platter, and the steamed fish, which were all flavorful and cooked just right.
Ambience & Interior
The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a rustic Thai-inspired design. The wooden décor, warm lighting, and traditional carvings gave a very cozy and authentic vibe. It felt like being transported straight to a Thai village.
Overall Experience
The combination of delicious food, authentic Thai flavors, generous portions, and charming interior design made it a memorable meal. I definitely plan to bring my family here in the future for another round of hearty Thai food.

I visited this restaurant yesterday and had a really disappointing experience. While eating my Thai dish, I found a strange object in my food — it looked like a piece of string or rope. I called a staff member over to check, and after taking a quick look, they simply said it came from “washing the ingredients.” Then they picked up an iPad, deleted the item from the order, and told me, “I’ve removed it.”
Meanwhile, my food was still sitting on the table, and no one offered a replacement, an apology, or any proper solution. The way the situation was handled felt careless and unprofessional. I left feeling really unhappy with both the food safety and the service attitude.
Definitely not the experience I expected.

Ordered set menu for 10pax. Very lovely ambience. Attentive service. Food was awesome, recommended by our neighbour. Totally love the food. Also their cake was top notch. Good place to celebrate birthdays. Will visit again soon.

It’s a huge place and really impressed on how well maintained the place is. Food is decent enough. Pandan wrapped chicken is well marinated but wished they could seasoned it a bit more. Tom yam was tasty. Well balanced. Wish was fresh and really good. Overall 7.5/10. Well priced too. We will definitely be back for more. Service is good.

Green Curry Chicken (too salty). Rate 10 we give 5.5 points. Need to improve. Great set up and very nice surrounding.

This restaurant is a fantastic spot for Thai cuisine, offering a wide variety of flavorful dishes. The service is remarkably quick, and our knowledgeable young Chinese lady waiter was exceptionally helpful. The only downside is that the interior can become quite warm and stuffy when crowded. Additionally, they should consider increasing the number of waiters to better accommodate large crowds. Despite these issues, the delicious food and excellent service make it a top choice for Thai food lovers. Highly recommended!

Ordered their signature steam fish, salted egg sotong and a vege. Here’s how I would rate the dishes
Fish: was big as was told they only had one size and it’s RM86 which was on the high side. Taste wasn’t up to what i would expect. Wasn’t sour enough and even though we requested less spicy, there were totally no spice at all.
Sotong: not fresh and was a little rubbery
Vege: lucky enough vege was properly seasoned but could tell it was old vege.
Overall the environment was nice, staffs were friendly but food wise….. Not so much
