John welcomed us at the entrance and would not allow us to go in with our drinks that we had purchased from a near by place to drink and eat with our food. It was already half way done and we intended to order more drinks at the bbq place but I guess it was not taken the right way. I think they should be happy customers are coming in instead of making us feel un welcomed from the start. We were planning on getting to go orders but we were very uncomfortable after everyone gave us some unfriendly stares when walking in. We almost walked out but decided to order to go anyway. Seems like we got less food and didn’t even come with bbq sauce or onions/pickles or utensil. We had to ask for each one even though it comes with the food! We had to take the utensils I guess if a customer wants to buy from here they get mad if you decide to bring a drink into their place even if it’s a to go order. I use to love eating here and never had issues. It honestly ruined our appetite. The menu also is very confusing with prices differing greatly from in person and online. I’ll stick to other places with better customer service from now on.

The service was great, the staff is really friendly. The food comes out really fast, which I love. I enjoyed the ribs more than the brisket. Loved the creamy corn.

Worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant, besides our server. John greeted myself and my boyfriend at the door and immediately stopped us for having two already opened drinks with us, boba from an amazing spot in San Antonio. The previous time we visited D Willie’s we brought drinks from the same place and were not stopped or told to leave. However, John was extremely insistent that his “boss” some bald guy in the back behind the counter who kept giving us mean glares wanted us to not have drinks.
Would you rather have no business at all or give us food to go with the drinks? It’s just boba, it’s a great combo and you really should try it. Our previous visit we had the same girl, and John was there too. Did he stop us? No. We enjoyed the combo in peace with live music. Their prices online are less expensive than their menus in person. They menus only have the sides on it and no meat choices. Even the server said that she didn’t know why they didn’t update the half slice printed paper menus.
Music was too loud and we just decided to get our food to go at this point. All while waiting, the bald guy in the back kept looking at us and I have never felt more judged or not wanted at a restaurant in my entire life. Gross people, maybe you should put your “no food and no drink” not under your Christmas wreath so people can see it? The portions of food you gave us were despicable, see attached pictures for dine in and to-go.

First time at DeeWillie’s, it was love at first whiff,(smelling the smoke that was cooking that brisket). I ordered the brisket plate with beans and loaded potato salad…✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️ I’m a brisket aficionado; I’ve smoked a lot of brisket in my lifetime, but Dee’s brisket was Perfect! juicy, tender full of smokey flavor! Portion size of brisket was quite generous too. Our server, Aleecia, was pleasant and funny, the kind of person you Want to tip. I’ll be going there again fer sure!

My Daughter and I visited this restaurant after a quick Google search on barbecue restaurants near where we were at the time. This is an awesome casual restaurant! We chose the brisket and sausage and picked different sides. The place is nice and clean and the food was so delicious! It had plenty of flavor, and our meat was perfectly cooked, and the sides were equally as delicious! The wait staff were friendly and attentive. One thing that surprised me as we walked up was the sound of live music! That made the experience even more enjoyable! In looking at the website, they have groups playing different genres of music on certain days. If you like a mini-concert with your meal, it would be good to contact them ahead of time to get more information. Edit: I deleted the videos because in reviewing them, there was no sound. The performers were excellent! I think there are probably some days that they don’t have live performances if you prefer a quiet meal. We look forward to returning to sample the other barbecue meats and sides!

First timer: We made it just in time, we were the last customers in for the evening. They were sold out!
I was impressed with the Brisket, it was real good. Wasn’t even able to finish it. Had to take half my sandwich home and my fries and potato salad.
Everything from the service, the food to the atmosphere was great. I were so hungry I even forgot to take pictures. Next time

The brisket was delicious. My two sides were the creamy corn and loaded potato salad, which were also good. The price was quite steep when I got the bill, and you only get one slice of bread. For that price, at least give two slices. The picture shows my one-slice sandwich I made. I can imagine how much it would be if I brought a group. The price is what will keep me from returning.

This was my first visit, but won’t be my last. I had the two meat plate with brisket and ribs. There was two large slices of brisket and two large spare ribs. Both were moist and seasoned with traditional salt and pepper. The fat on the brisket was rendered perfectly and, as it should, added great flavor. The ribs were very tender and falling off the bone. For sides I had the loaded potato salad and Cole slaw. The loaded potato salad was crafted very well. The Cole slaw was made with red cabbage, carrots, kale (not too much), raisins (again, not too much), and had a cream sauce that blended the ingredients perfectly. The pickles are homemade and has great flavor. The onions tasted like they are picked on site. A single slice of potato bread was served. As a backyard craft BBQ pit master that sells meat on the side, I can honestly say this is a great place for a larger scale BBQ restaurant. Some may think the prices are a little high, but I can promise you they reflect the quality of product. Cheap BBQ ain’t good, and good/great BBQ ain’t cheap.
Update: I visited again on December 11 and was a little put-out. As you can see on the menu, it say Sausage (2 links) $8.50. Since I didn’t have sausage the first visit I thought of try it solo this time, so I ordered two sausage links, two sides, & a drink. I figured my bill would be around $20 plus tax. But to my surprise, it was over $31. Why? Because it’s not $8.50 for 2 links; it’s $8.50 per link. After numerous conversations with the waitress going back and forth with her boss, the boss lady said the menu was wrong and they would not honor that price, but what they did do was charge me for a one meat plate instead. So, buyer beware on ordering the sausage. Oh, the sausage was just ok.

Haven’t really wanted to try this place which is weird for me….I love BBQ and I LOVE to eat! The lady up front was kinda rude so I just left. I finally decided to give this place a go and i regretted it. $81 and wasn’t even worth half of that. Do not trust the prices posted on Google, its much more than that.
As for the food, the sausage was disgusting. It was like greasy hamburger meat texture. The turkey was delicious. Tender and cooked perfect. The brisket and the pulled pork was fine and tender. It just wasnt seasoned at all and if your going to have a BBQ restaurant then your food has to have more of a smoke flavor than Bill Miller’s. The sides were ok. So the lady at the front was just as rude as the person 3 years prior. No reason for anyone to go and eat here when there’s so many great restaurants out there and owners treating their customers like they’re important to them.

Visiting San Antonio From Ohio. Wanted the best BBQ in Texas. Researched online and this place kept popping up. Just happened to be one Down the street from my hotel. Dropped in on a Sunday Afternoon. Ordered my food to go. From the time I walked in till I walked out was maybe 10 minutes. Fast, courteous service. I ordered ribs, brisket and a couple of sides. The ribs were ok, but the brisket was unlike anything that I have tasted before. Probably the most tender piece of beef I have eaten in my 56 yrs of living. Definitely worth the try if you are down this way. Price wasn’t bad either. It was 2 bones, and 2 good size pieces of brisket and the sides for like 28.00 with tax.
