Jose Tequila’s was fantastic! I ordered Jose’s Favorito, and it was incredible—flavorful, perfectly cooked, and clearly made with care. The atmosphere was welcoming, the service was friendly and attentive, and the chips and salsa were fresh and delicious.

Busy and festive atmosphere! My sister and I went there for a drink and appetizer. The staff seemed very rushed. I wouldn’t say we were neglected. The food was okay. The corn for the street corn was kind of soggy. The wings had sauce on one side but not the other. The chips were good, thin and crispy. Our drinks were strong and we appreciated the happy hour specials.

I went here with my son for lunch as mexican is our favorite and this place topped the best we’ve had. The service from Raoul was above and beyond he was friendly courteous attentive and good. He amazed my son by remembering his name when I said it one time. Thank you great job and the fried ice cream we will dream about it tonight. The atmosphere is warm welcoming and not “excessive” like some places are. This place was great.

Everything was good, from the food to the service and the atmosphere, of course. It’s a beautiful restaurant inside and out with plenty of space. The rice and beans were different than any other Mexican restaurant I have ever had in the area. The rice has peas and corn like I make at home feom scratch with tomato bouillon. The beans are made with a hint of something red as well. I’m not sure if there are red kidney beans included or some other bean. Possibly just the seasoning that changes the color and flavor. I liked the beans they just had too much cheese for me. The chimichanga and taco salad lunch special were plentiful. They were 12 lunches, so they should be. We’ll try again for dinner sometime. Our server was attentive until the end when we had to wait for the check about 5 minutes. It wasn’t bad, and there would have been a way to pay without him returning, so no biggie.

This is my FAVORITE restaurant in the 757. I no longer reside in VA but when I visit I always go to Jose Tequilas in Newport News.
I’ve tried the other locations and there’s no comparison.
The food is always great, best chicken tortilla soup I’ve ever eaten, it is full of chicken
I love everything I order especially the fresh guacamole!
The drinks are great, my favorite is the “Latin Lover”
But, what exceeds all is the service. The staff is so friendly and efficient.From the moment the door swings open until you leave they are smiling and offering exceptional hospitality
