The food was absolutely scrumptious. I highly recommend the fried zucchini flower and the fried calamari, but if you are looking for something not fried and a little healthier I recommend the seafood pasta. And what everyone says about the lasagna is not worth the hype, the pasta was way to thick and has too many layers in my opinion, and I don’t know about anyone else but I personally don’t like the hard edges on the lasagna, and they have hard edges on one side on the lasagna which I don’t like.
The service here is definitely not the best, our server (I didn’t get his name) was not the nicest and when we asked for some butter he said, “no butter, use oil.” And he was a little rude to us because I’m not sure if this is the reason but I think he thought we didn’t order enough, because before we ordered the fried calamari he was a little rude, and after we ordered the fried calamari he immediately became nice and friendly, again I’m not sure if that’s the reason but that’s just what I think.
The atmosphere was pretty nice although I think that they definitely expanded over time because there are a lot of twists and turns throughout the whole restaurant. It took a us probably 3 minutes just to walk from the table to the door.
Overall, our experience was pretty good and the food was great, but just be prepared, the service is not exactly excellent. I recommend this place for tourist because clearly it is a tourist trap with expensive food and hidden fees like a water fee. I would not recommend this place to people looking for a nice quiet restaurant.

We ordered the steak, truffle fillet, lasagna, and tomato pasta. The food was really delicious and beautifully presented. However, the prices were quite high and the service was a bit slow. You definitely need to book a table in advance, as the place gets busy. Overall, a great experience if you don’t mind paying a bit more for quality food.

Best lasagna I’ve had in my life! So glad we ate here. It was recommended by our tour guide and has good reviews. It’s Michelin Star restaurant for a reason. Everything was delicious. We ordered boar pappardelle, lasagna and artichoke risotto. The servers were really nice and provided great service. To top it off, they bring the dessert trolley with different options. We got the Tiramisu and it was worth all the calories. Fantastic dinner.

I was in Florence last week and dined here twice for dinner. The hospitality here is a 100/10 I was dining alone but the waiter made me feel so relaxed and comfortable which I really appreciated.
The food was just amazing I’m going to be thinking about the lasagne forever.
When I came back the second time the staff recognised and welcomed me warmly and the owner even came over to welcome me and say she was happy to see me back.
This is definitely a restaurant I’d recommend to go to if you can and I can’t wait to be back!!

This may have been our best dining experience in Florence…authentic, inviting space, engaging staff, delicious food, and superior wine. Seriously, I am of italian descent, and consider myself a strong cook of all things inherited down from my family. Particular about certain things, and would never order lasagne out in the States. This is the best lasagne I ever had in my life. Wish we could go back and get it again! Enjoy!

Buca Mario is an incredible restaurant with a wonderful selection of dishes. We started with the Artichoke Risotto, which was absolutely excellent.
For our main courses, we had the classic Bistecca alla Fiorentina and the Steak with Peppercorn Sauce – both were cooked to perfection. A special mention goes to the French Fries, which are unique and very tasty!

We visited 9 years ago and had such a memorable experience, we returned this trip. The atmosphere is busy, a well-oiled machine pushing food by on carts and serving mediocre Italian cuisine. They seem to forget about you once you order and then take things away before you’re finished. Our server was warm and funny, however, we didn’t see him after he dropped off our food other than to show us the dessert cart. I think they’ve turned into a tourist attraction unfortunately.
