Perhaps the interior design is not as interesting as the one featured by Hibachi in Cary… but in terms of everything else there is no comparison! Definitely the best place to have Hibachi in the whole Wake County area. The Chefs are funny and highly skilled… the food is simply delicious. My taste buds are still watering. Many compliments!

Tucked away on the lower level of Crabtree Mall just beneath P.F. Chang’s, Kanki Japanese Restaurant feels like a hidden find. The sushi was fresh, well-crafted, and absolutely hit the spot. Their sake selection really stood out, paired with an impressive lineup of wines, liquors, and beers featuring both American and Japanese labels. I grabbed a seat at the bar, and the service was top-notch—attentive, friendly, and genuinely enhanced the entire experience. Everything came together to make this a place I’d happily return to.

Very interesting location. We went to try sushi (by the way, they were very tasty), and ended up at an extremely interesting culinary circus performance. Lots of emotions, be sure to visit this place with friends. The food is prepared before your eyes and is also very unusual. I definitely recommend it!!! And the prices are quite nice.

Came here with some friends for lunch. Has been a guilty pleasure restaurant for me ever since I was a teenager over 20 years ago, and the place I first tried sushi. Portions are great, price is reasonable. The wasabi with the sushi hits quickly but fades fast and doesn’t painfully linger. The ginger dressing on the salad is full of flavor.

I ordered to-go for me and my friend last second, and the girls at the upper level order area were all very sweet and kind. The wait was probably around 20 minutes for 3 sushi rolls, and I just moved my car around and waited a couple minutes and it was all done. The food was super fresh and delicious!

We recently tried this sushi spot inside the mall, and overall, it was a decent experience. The food was good—we started with calamari as an appetizer, and it was definitely a highlight. We also had soup, chicken, and a couple of sushi rolls, all of which were tasty and well-prepared.

The service was okay. We seated ourselves, and our server didn’t talk much, just brought the food. Not bad, just not very engaging. The atmosphere was fine—it’s what you’d expect for a restaurant inside a mall. Convenient if you’re shopping and want to grab a bite.

One downside was the pricing. For a mall restaurant, it felt a bit overpriced. The quality was good, but not quite enough to justify the cost.

Overall, it was fine. Good food, decent service, and a convenient location, but a little on the expensive side for what it is.

The most DISGUSTING experience I’ve ever had.
We’ve been their customers for over 10 years, and this place is exponentially going downhill. It’s probably better if they just close at this point. On our last visit, the food was ridiculously dry and gross, and floors were sticky and dirty with food all over the ground, most tables were not cleaned and had people’s leftover trash all over, and the service was extremely unprofessional. They had great potential but it’s just disgusting at this point.

This was an interesting spot to eat and review. I took my daughter and we are both huge hibachi fans. When you arrive there is first come first serve seating at bar and another area for casual seating where the food comes right out without the chef show. You also can elect to wait or sit at the traditional hibachi style table for the chef show. The food was very good, we both got Hibachi steak, shrimp and chicken. thought the ginger sauce could have been better and you had to ask for that. Server was a little overwhelmed so getting refills took a while. Otherwise nice spot for some good food.

The service and atmosphere was very good. It was a bit crowded at the table. Food was good. However we felt the fried rice was too salty for our taste. The kids shrimp hibachi noodle was very good. Other than that they were good. The vegetables and shrimp tempura were really good. We liked the clear soup and salad with ginger dressing . Kids will enjoy the show!

We were celebrating our daughter finishing her BSN, and this is where she chose to eat.
We had reservations for 6:30 but the rain started coming down and 3 of our party was blocked by an accident on the highway. They were great and gave us a reservation for a bit later.
We also had 2 toddlers and would need 2 high chairs. They had everything ready for us.
Our chef for the night was great, as was the food! For 6 adults and 2 kids, it costs less than I was expecting. Great evening!
