Overpriced and not good.
Just bland and meh.
Chicken fried steak could’ve been cooked a few more minutes. I threw away the thickest part.
Husbands patty melt was unseasoned and the okra was barely fried.
All this for $35 is not worth it.
Love the location though.
I asked for soft scrambled eggs and it was obvious that they put two eggs on the grill and they started cooking before they even mixed them up. They were very overdone and dry. Hashbrowns were absolutely horrible. It looked at if they took a layer of shredded potatoes and put them in a deep fryer basket and then put something on top of it to keep it flat while it turned into a big potato chip.
The server was very nice to bring me an order of home fries. Those are obviously deep fried as well, but they were tasty. The chorizo was nice.
Now onto the pancake. Their batter is delicious. The pancake was big and fluffy. Although it was obvious, they cooked it in a puddle of oil because the outside was crispy and over done.
I imagine this isn’t standard for this restaurant. I’m hoping it was just a bad cook and I came on a bad day.
This was our first time for breakfast and I am pretty certain it will be our last. The lunch and dinner crew are 1000% better and its very worth the trip and expense.
Today is Saturday December 13th 2025.
We visited at approximately 945am.
We were greeted warmly and directed to the 50s diner area for breakfast. It was very cute and rather crowded but we found a booth in the front window area.
There were approximately 4 servers and they were all busy so we took our seats and waited patiently for someone to bring us menus and greet us. Several minutes passed and a table of 3 came in and sat down. A few minutes later a table of 4 came in and sat down. Both of which were greeted, brought menus and silverware and drinks were served. I thought at this point maybe they just didn’t see us, so I raised my hand to a girl in the server area to let her know we were there and she immediately responded with – “We see you”.
And now thanks to you, so does everyone else.
Hhhmmm. Ok clearly we are not getting off on a good note and we probably should have gotten up and left. However, we stayed….
She eventually made it over to bring menus and get our drink order. When she came back I placed our order and there was absolutely ZERO personality from this girl. Only attitude. Food came and my eggs were next to raw. The whites were so slimy you couldn’t pick them up without scraping them up with the toast that had no butter. The oatmeal was good and the sausage was good but those eggs were horrible.
I was going to send them back to be cooked more but when I said something about them being runny our server didn’t seem to care or want to do anything about it. I didn’t figure the eggs would come back edible so I just left them on the plate. I did try to stir them up and eat them anyway but I just couldn’t do slimy eggs.
After we finished, our server never came back to check on us or bring a ticket so we went to the front to pay. She eventually saw us gone and came out front and checked us out. Again cold as ice. I left a big fat ZERO tip because she did absolutely NOTHING to deserve anything….and thats to bad for her because I ALWAYS tip my servers good, even if they make mistakes, because their personalities make up for their mistakes. Ms CASANDRA you have ZERO personality for a server position. You need to be behind the scenes washing dishes. I hope the next time we come in you are having a better day or perhaps even have a better job that suits your personality, or lack of.
No worries, we will go back, but it will NOT be for breakfast and certainly will NOT ever sit in Ms Casandras section.
You are better than this Lucilles.
$29.96 for HORRIBLE service and runny eggs was not acceptable.
I had the apple pie but it was soft. Serve ice cream and not what you would think. I wish they would clarify that. Other than that the food was good. The mac and cheese was excellent. I didn’t realize that my burger was coming with barbecue sauce but it’s okay I wiped it off.
I’m definitely going to order those chicken nuggets again next time I’m here. They were the bomb. I might just order two orders.
