The Aster Cafe is located under the trees on the prettiest street in Minneapolis. Overlooking the mighty Mississippi river and the skyline of the city, the Aster is a candle-lit restaurant-bar with a sweet European patio. Live music, great brunches, craft beers and cocktails, and a thoughtful wine list add up to City Pages calling us the “best place to go on a first date”. Our menu is fresh (no deep fryers!) and inventive. We also have lovely spaces for events and weddings, which you can check out by contacting our Event Goddess. So get down here!

I have been wanting to go to the aster Cafe for years after I heard about the Bluegrass brunch. Making reservations was a breeze. We parked on the street, but next time we will use the ramp. We were not disappointed. The place has a cool laid-back vibe, and the High 48s were awesome as always. Our server was fantastic and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back, next time, I want to see Patty and the Buttons.

Visiting the cities for the first time, im glad I picked this place over some other options. The charcuterie board was ample and appropriate to accompany the unique drink menu. The mains were fine, but it was the cocktails and atmosphere that make for a memorable evening.

Just a beautiful place and wonderful food! Had just the best experience there. We are there for entertainment by Pandora’s Other Box and it was all just outstanding. Top notch service in just a beautiful location. Great place for a night out!! Can’t wait to return.

We are here before the Paul McCartney concert n a Friday night. We had the mushroom flatbread, a bottle of wine and the barbecue pork sliders.

Sliders were great. The flatbread was basically a pizza. It was just okay. It was a beautiful fall day and we sat outside. WARNING – there were hornets everywhere and I got stung badly as I went to pick up our wine bottle and put a refill and did not realize a hornet was sitting on the bottle. Ouch!!

Not a place to go if you are allergic to bees!

Amazing and best service around! From MJ greeting us to the waiter and team, we had a great time, food was ALL delicious and the atmosphere was relaxing and enjoyable. We had 15 people last minute and haven’t that type of service in a long time – highly recommend!

I visited Aster Cafe for New Year’s Eve diner with a friend and had a wonderful time! The menu was short and concise with a little something for anyone. The staff was kind and attentive, always checking in even with a completely packed floor. The mood lighting, live music, and overall decor of the place really wrapped the experience together as a thoughtful, meticulously crafted experience.

My son and I (both from different states – from MN, – and from each other,) hung out here for lunch. It was a beautiful day, and their outdoor seating was perfect! Our food was fantastic, but I hated the flavor of my Virgin Mary (cumin, maybe?) The server was very attentive, and the food came out piping hot. I definitely recommend this place!

My favorite patio

I returned the MSP after 8 years for a wedding and just had to have lunch here. The views of the cities, right on the Mississippi River, and delicious bites keep me coming back.

We put our name down, it was about a 15 min wait at about 1pm. Just enough time to snap a picture on the Stone Arch Bridge and walk back to be seated.

Everything in the menu is fresh and bright. Not as heavy as most mid-west food can be.

We loved the quiche, pizza, and pear and beet salad.

Dog friendly patio, so bring your fur babies for lunch!

Also live music sometimes!

This is a special spot and I’m so glad to see it still thriving.

Food was great, wobbly tables on the patio where annoying, service was slow, wasn’t offered a free refill, and the hostess that sat us didn’t give us menus as we watched her seat other people and give them menus so my wife had to get up and get me her and my mother a menu while we were there with our special needs toddler.

Definitely no complaints about the yummy food though. It took forever to get our bill and it took a long time just to get some water.

We wanted to sit inside but they said it would be a $6 cover charge for each of us including our special needs disabled child because there was a live band playing inside.

When I looked inside there were literally two people sitting up at the bar and then one person eventually sitting at the bar and nobody actually sitting inside to eat.
