⭐ Restaurant Review: Outback Steakhouse – Mobile, AL
I stopped in at the Outback in Mobile and decided to keep things simple with a Caesar salad topped with salmon. The dish was… fine. The salmon was cooked adequately and the portion was reasonable, but nothing about it really stood out. The flavors were mild, and the overall presentation felt a bit routine rather than memorable.
Service followed the same pattern—perfectly acceptable, but not especially warm or attentive. Everything arrived in a timely manner, and the staff handled the basics well, though the experience didn’t have the extra spark that makes a visit feel special.
Overall, it was an okay meal with okay service. If you’re looking for something predictable and straightforward, this Outback delivers that. If you’re hoping for something a bit more elevated or flavorful, you might leave wishing for a little more.

So it was a total of 7 of us. We originally planned to go to Logan’s. Well we went & an hour of sitting there waiting, we had 1 root beer , a bud light & a fruity drink. We didn’t receive the service we thought was common when working in the food industry. We decided Outback- this is where our terrible night made a 360! Shoutout to my boy Phil! Great service, my dad is a hard man to win over & tonight we saw him in a different light! Food was great, atmosphere was great, the hosts/extra servers that helped out ?? I’M HERE TO GIVE Y’ALL YOUR FLOWERS !!! I mean the attitude, the positivity, the energyyyy! Ugh, we LOVED it! Y’all were the cherry on top! It’s the ones who are working behind the scenes to keep the flow moving that we forget about! But I’m here to give y’all a huge standing ovation! We will DEFINITELY be coming back to Outback now !

Wanted to try something different went around 5pm was not to crowded. Fast service they serve rye bread and butter before meal and were out of the ribs and the menu didn’t allow two sides to come with pasta. I picked out mozzarella sticks and spanich dip for appetizer. I decided on Shrimp on a Barbie with French loaded mashed potatoes & ceasar salad. Ribeye with Loaded baked potato, steak mac-cheese and french onion dip. Spent around $120w/tip would still give it a try if you never experienced it before.

Food was good; everything took a while to come out though. Waitress was sweet.

I wish I had gotten the name of the gentleman working the to-go orders tonight because he truly deserves recognition. It was extremely busy there was barely anywhere to park and it honestly seemed like he was the only one handling all of the to-go orders. He was constantly moving, coming in and out quickly, and never stopped, yet he still stayed positive and energetic the entire time.
Even though my issue was completely my mistake, he took time out of his night to patiently help me figure out how to register and use my gift card so I could pay for my meal. He never made me feel rushed or like I was a bother, even with everything he had going on.
He was professional, helpful, and genuinely kind. Great customer service like that does not go unnoticed. Thank you for having such a wonderful team member working your to-go orders tonight.

Waited on hostess to get off the phone to be seated after about 8 minutes.. Waited another 15 minutes to get drink order. Had to wait another 30 to 45 minutes or so for utensils because there were no clean utensils. The waitress gave my wife and daughter plastic utensils until she could get a clean set. The food was NOT that great. Sorry Outback!

From 6:40 until bc we still haven’t received our drinks, bread for the table, and the appetizer came out burnt. We will not be back. Thinking about just walking out and going elsewhere

So after walking out of Logan’s, came here. It wasn’t much better. The host did seat us promptly and the server did get our drink orders fairly promptly. And was given bread pretty quickly, although we were never given utensils. We just went viking on it. Got out order in-appetizers and the entree. 30mins later still waiting on the appetizers. Finally the server came and apologized for taking so long that there was a problem in the kitchen. About 15mins later we finally get the appetizers. I could tell right off the bloomin fried shrimp was overcooked-borderline burnt. Not any good. And the mozerella bloomerangs were way too salty to even eat. About 15mins later server came back and we explained how bad the cheese sticks were. He took them back and said there’d be no charge. About 10mins later, dude shows up my chili. Not sure why. It was meant to be ate with my dinner. About 30mins later-yes we’ve invested about 2hrs of our time at this point-the entrees finally came out. It was fine. She had the filet & chicken combo with a baked potato and fries and I had the pork chops with loaded mashed potato. They neglected to put whatever sauce was supposed to go on it, on it. But I was fine with that. Mashed potatoes were scalding hot but it balanced out my chili that had gone cold by now. There’s a reason I don’t do outback often and this experience only reinforced it

Disappointed on Veteran’s Day — Hoping for Better Treatment for Those Who Served
Today is Veteran’s Day, and as a proud veteran, I was excited to visit Outback Steakhouse to enjoy their generous offer of a free three-course meal. Outback has always been one of my favorite restaurants, and I was looking forward to celebrating the day with my sister, who is also a veteran.
Unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing. When we arrived, we were told there was about an hour and a half wait — a “three-page wait,” to be exact. That was fine; we completely understood that it would be busy today and were happy to wait. I provided my name and phone number and patiently waited.
After an hour, I called to check on our status and was told that they had texted me, but since I hadn’t responded within 10 minutes, they moved on to the next guests. I explained that I never received a text message and even offered to show proof, but the staff member simply said, “Unfortunately, we went on,” with no effort to accommodate us or make things right.
As a veteran, I didn’t expect special treatment — just basic respect and fairness. It was disappointing that on a day meant to honor those who served, we were dismissed so easily after waiting so long.
I’m sharing this not out of anger, but in hopes that Outback and others reading this will take it as a reminder: sometimes, the smallest gestures of care and understanding can mean the most. Veterans deserve to feel appreciated, not forgotten in the crowd.
