The food itself was tasty and perfectly spicy. Unfortunately the portion size is ridiculous, our murgh tikka was only 4 medium sized pieces of chicken with a little onion. If we hadn’t asked we wouldn’t even have a side of rice.
Compared to any other India Restaurant i visited this amount of food was embarrassing, usually tandoori dishes are served with rice and bread. Here you paid 10EUR for four pieces of chicken alone.
Only saving grace were the service staff, friendly, quick and efficient.

Yesterday we visited this place for dinner, and we had a very bad experience.
We ordered the tandoori chicken, and it was the worst chicken I have ever eaten in my life. They are serving old, frozen chicken that is inedible. When we complained to the waitress, she simply said, “It’s okay, you can have it.” They didn’t even try to replace the dish. We paid around 10 euros for it, and it went completely to waste.
Please avoid visiting this restaurant — they are literally cheating customers.

The waiters are not very attentive and hospitable. I will not say that they are rude but the way they talk to guests should be more polite and accommodating. We arrived before the dinner rush and waiting time is still around 25 minutes. Chicken biryani and garlic naan are very good. Tandoori is just okay; for me it’s bland. They don’t offer tap water (which I find ironic but it’s there rule ♀️) so you have to order bottled water.
I would still come back to try other foods.
I can’t really suggest this restaurant to bring your family or friends for a dining catch up due to the service but as a eat-and-go kind of place.

In the very center of Zagreb, on Tkalciceva Street, there is this Indian restaurant that I accidentally entered and was delighted with. The selection of food is very large and everything is extremely delicious. You could write a whole novel about spices because everything is so rich in flavors and really delicious if you like them. The restaurant staff is very polite and unobtrusive, which is very important to me. If you ask them, they will be happy to help you with instructions and advice on what is best for you.

The Food was okay, The service BAD! The waiters don’t know how to explain the menu, we were dismissed and waited a long time to get our food and drinks (drinks 15 minutes in and appetizer 25 minutes in the main course came later, the servers really look like they don’t know what they are doing). I asked for a glass of water and they brought me a bottle – don’t fall for the tricks. Would not come back and would not recommend. The space is cool but VERY COLD in the winter, the music keeps switching from traditional Indian music to Justin Bieber from 2014/2015.

Very kind and hospitable team at royal India. We reached close to closing time but they still accommodated our order and we could take away and eat ! We are very thankful for their service and were very happy with the food taste and service !

Unfortunately our second time here and a bit disappointed the food wasn’t as tasty as 2 years ago and my son said the meat tasted fishy and it did. I feel sad as we were really looking forward to the meal and it just wasn’t up to scratch and don’t think we’ll be returning, sadly.
The worst Indian food my family & myself have ever had!
I don’t recommend it at all & a place to avoid in the future!
