At this restaurant, a Western omelette should literally be a piece of cake ( ). Not so. It was dry. The veggies were fresh, but barely cooked = almost raw (so maybe an after thought?). The ham was diced too large so the pieces fell out on the plate. The cheddar cheese on the top hadn’t melted most likely because the eggs weren’t hot enough when it was grated on top. No seasoning….nothing. My rye bread toast had something on it but I don’t think it was butter….perhaps butter flavored oil. It was 11:00am. The dining room wasn’t busy. Yet it was one of the poorest breakfasts I have ever been served and I worked in the food service industry for over 30 years. Two stars because the hash browns were good and the portions were large. Really disappointed; not worth the $.

The meal for 2 for $24.99 was a fair price. We ordered online and chose curbside delivery. The only two issues that we had was that they didn’t read the special request section when I asked for no mushrooms on my meal for dietary reasons and the other was that we waited about 20 minutes past the scheduled time that we were supposed to be picking it up. I didn’t see any other cars in the parking lot, so maybe it was just a one time thing. The person that brought our order out was very friendly respectful. It was our first time eating here, so if we’re ever in the area again I’d come back.

Came in today for breakfast, and unfortunately, I left disappointed.
Let’s start with the potatoes: they tasted like they’d been fried in old oil and were still undercooked. No seasoning to speak of. The sausage? Crunchy—not in a crispy way, but more like charcoal. The bacon was so tough I could’ve mistaken it for venison jerky.
And then there was the gravy. It just tasted… off. It had a strange gray color and was so thick I could probably use it as drywall compound. Not exactly appetizing.
Originally, I was going to give 3 stars. While the food missed the mark, the service was quick and the staff were friendly—that counts for something. But what made me drop a stars was the price: $14.35 before tip for a meal like this!?
For that kind of money, I at least expect the food to be properly cooked. Overall, just a disappointing experience. There are always alternatives—some better, some cheaper, and many more consistent
P.S. I only touched 5 potatoes. Thats the amount that came with the plate.

I honestly didn’t know this breakfast sausage was an actual restaurant! But I’m glad I stumbled upon it. Very friendly staff, and like the commercial says, you definitely feel like you’ve walked onto a farm. I absolutely love the food….I plan on going back a lot more.

We used to dine at Bob Evans often, lately not so much. Why not now….poor service, mediocre food, high prices. Today for breakfast, we received our drink order in good time, but then didn’t she here again til the food came (had coffee, no refil) food came and we had no utensils, had to sit while she went back to get them and coffee. My plain scrambled eggs had some kind of black stuff in the fold. Looked like either burned the backside of the egg or it was cooked on a dirty grill, picked through and ate what I could waited long enough didn’t bother to ask for a do over. Previous visit was just a pickup order for soup; hubby likes the soup. That was the longest wait ever for a soup to go plus way overpriced. Merrillville BE has become very disappointing.

This used to be a good spot for breakfast. Second time I’ve gotten stale day old tasting biscuits as well as potatoes cooked in what I can only describe as old oil, very bad after taste, please look into possibly cleaning fryer and changing oil regularly. Currently I would not recommend this place. It’s a shame as I used to really enjoy the food here.

I had never been in or even knew about Bob Evans. My wife made me come. I had breakfast. Started off with a very friendly and helpful hostess. Then a server took our order. Even better than the hostess and that’s saying something. Tabitha took our order, helped me decide by giving great suggestions. Excellent choices. I ended up with a sausage biscuit with home fries, egg and gravy. It was good. Cooked just right. And did I tell you that I felt like home. I wish there was a Bob Evans in my state.

The food here is absolutely delicious! Our server, Tabitha, was incredibly kind and attentive. I have food allergies, and she went out of her way to double-check every detail of my order to keep me safe.
At one point, we almost had a negative experience when another employee became upset and raised his voice about our order. That’s when Kathy D. (if she isn’t already the GM, she should be!) immediately stepped in. She calmly corrected the issue, treated everyone with respect, and even coached the employee in a constructive way we could hear from our table.
People have bad days, but it takes a truly great manager to turn a tense situation into a positive one. Kathy did exactly that, and it left us impressed and grateful. This kind of leadership—and the amazing food—are why I’m taking the time to write this review! We will definitely be repeat customers! Thank you!

We had not been to Bob Evans for two years, we walked in to an empty restaurant, not a single customer. We placed our food order and ordered two coffees, the food came to us luke warm, the hash browns were just warmed not really done. The rest of the food was rather tasteless, half way through our meal we had to flag down our waitress to ask for more coffe, we finished our meal and she never returned with more coffee. I now remembered why I stopped going to this restaurant, medeoker food and bad service.
