Very nice atmosphere, not too loud, great view. My server Gavin was incredible. Tip him well if you visit! Made great recommendations and offered advice on the menu. Reasonable prices. All around excellent experience.

I have to say the disappointment in the food in this place was insane…. The crispy shrimp app was amazing. I was so stoked for my food when we got done with that. But when I received my halibut entree I was so disappointed. Severely under-seasoned (salt) . No color on it and overcooked. The broccolini also, missing salt and it was barely charred. I legit feel like I was eating nursing home or hospital food. The person I dined with had the brick chicken. It was slightly better, at least the chicken had color on it and a bit more salt, but still under-seasoned. I suppose I should have verified how the halibut is prepared…but with such a good rating on here, figured it would be good…and especially after the shrimp. The drinks were great. Service was quite good, but when we arrived the person at the host stand barely said anything, no welcome greeting and barely said a word. Server was quick and friendly. Ambience is amazing. While I was very disappointed in my entree, the experience was still a good one. Just will have to ask some questions moving forward if I return…or return my food

My partner and I are tourists here in Chicago, and we visited around 9PM on a Saturday. It was populated but not packed and busy, and the atmosphere and interior was calm and elegant. We were able to comfortably chat and enjoy our booth without difficulty.
I had the Crispy Brick Chicken which I thought was amazingly tender and delicious, complemented with potatoes and veggies. My partner had the Steak Frites, and while the fries were fantastic, the steak was just slightly undercooked but was otherwise juicy, tasty, and easy to eat. We shared the Truffle Mac & Cheese on the side and thought it was seriously good!
Service was great, staff were attentive and came by to check on us often but were not intrusive and that’s something we appreciated. Overall, well worth the price compared to other spots nearby, we loved it here.

Great food and service. Really liked their pulled pork sandwiche. The bruger was alright. Nice friendly staff and very enjoyable to seat outside if whether permits. Will be coming back again here for sure.

Very nice spot for a Saturday night dinner. Service was excellent. Food was very well prepared. Enjoyed a variety of steak dishes all perfect. Desserts were worth saving room for. Highly recommend the birthday cake sundae.

We visited Porter Kitchen and Deck during our vacation and had such a great experience! Our group of 5 had a reservation, and the atmosphere was perfect with a beautiful view of the river running through downtown Chicago. I ordered the crispy shrimp appetizer and the lobster roll for my entrée—both were very good. Overall, the food, views, and experience made this a spot I’d definitely recommend.

We had a less than stellar experience here. The food was subpar for the price and the service was just okay. The views are beautiful and the drinks were decent. The restaurant is incredibly loud, so be prepared to shout to your neighbors when having conversation.

This was a beautiful place. A nice meal with a great summer view. And surprisingly, it was not expensive. With vibes and views like this, you’d expect to pay a lot but everything was reasonable. Can’t wait to come back

I had a fantastic meal at Porter Kitchen & Deck, and the highlight was definitely the steak sliders — juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. We were lucky to get a window seat right next to the river, which made the whole experience even more special with the beautiful views and relaxed vibe while we ate and enjoyed a drink. The service was attentive and friendly, and the overall atmosphere was perfect for a casual but memorable dinner in Chicago. Highly recommend stopping by if you want great food paired with an amazing setting right on the river!
