First time there a few days ago and had the Club sandwich; a safe first dish. It was a large club. I took half if it home, and it was delicious, and the fries were hot, tasty, and crispy. Melissa was fast and friendly and the manager was there working the floor asking if everything was good. It was better than good. Going back to try something else today.
Second review. I ordered too much, but no regrets. They did not skimp as every bite of Western Omelet was full of toppings. The hashbrowns were flavorful and crispy. The blueberry Belgian waffle really hit the spot with the bananas and strawberries making my day. Ciara was young and couldn’t have been serving for very long, but don’t tell her about inexperience because she nailed it. She had me two glasses of tea without even asking, and not so she could slack off because she was very attentive; checking on me several times. I very much enjoy eating at this place.

My husband and I went for the first time today and it was amazing!
We ordered: The fried chicken eggs Benedict and the chicken and waffles! The portions were great on both!
It was very busy when we arrived and we got to sit in the heated area outside (which we both preferred over the packed inside seating)
Our waitress was also very nice! And the woman who brought out our food was just as kind!

Our first time here. We both ordered burgers. My side was cole slaw and my daughter had French fries. I know this sounds like not a big deal, but, for me, it is! I have to eat gluten free, so a place that offers gluten free bread with their sandwiches is definitely a big deal! I’m usually relegated to a salad or something like grilled chicken and whatever vegetables are on the menu. Metro actually has a gluten free menu! My hamburger was absolutely delicious. The gluten free bread actually tasted good. The burger was juicy, but browned nicely. Our service was exceptional. The place is really clean. We stopped here on a whim, and I’m glad we did!

Wanted to try another breakfast spot besides Waffle House. And I can say I am slightly disappointed in the service and quality of food here. I ordered the eggs, turkey sausage, house potatoes and Belgian waffle. Then the bissell breakfast from the kids menu. The eggs and the waffle was delicious. The house potatoes were not fresh. You can tell they had been sitting up. Turkey sausage was nasty as well. But the thing that really bothered me was the girl serving my table brought my check immediately after the food was delivered. And was done with us. I needed a refill on coffee and she did not come back, I put the mug to the edge of my table. And that’s like a universal sign that someone needs a refill. Not one girl walking around with a coffee pot refill my glass. Every one else glass got filled around me but mines. I almost got up to go refill it myself or walk to the front with my coffee cup to ask for a refill. Nor did she come back to check me out. Totally forgot my table. Soon as I got up to walk to the front to pay for my ticket, here she comes running. This was my first time eating here and will be my last. My overall rating is 1.

11/24 This is our annual brunch spot for our reunion. It’s always a group of 20 or more. We come here because the customer service and the food because it is always amazeballs. We even met one of the chefs. The owner has always been most accommodating all with a smile. I love the fried chicken plate but that strawberry butter is EVERYTHANG!!!
11/23 Our server Stephanie was amazeballs. She was attentive to our large party and gave great customer service. And she smiled the entire time.

Metro Diner in Trussville is simply the best. I have never eaten anything that wasn’t prepared with a spirit of excellence. My Mobile family members can’t visit my home without eating at Metro at least twice before returning home. When there have been 10 of us, all 10 people enjoy their food rating it a 10/10. The customer service from the owner and servers is always a 10. Usually when a restaurant has a wide array of food items on the menu, everything is not good. But I must say that Metro has everything on the menu and everything is delicious. Kudos to Metro Diner. Customer service and delicious food determines the longevity of any business(restaurant). The owner leads his employees by example. I have seen him serving in many capacities such as cooking, cleaning, and greeting customers. It shows the staff that he is not above doing any job in the restaurant. He is amazing. I did visit 280 and it was good. The service was good and your wife is adorable, BUT my home Metro Diner is Trussville MOBILE

I was really disappointed with my experience at Metro Diner during my visit on Sunday, November 30th. When our food arrived, every single plate we were served on was visibly dirty. There was dried butter, dried ketchup, and other food particles stuck to the plates, which made it clear they either weren’t washed properly or at all.
What made the situation even more concerning is that the person who brought out our food was the manager and one of the cooks. You would expect them, of all people, to notice the condition of the plates before serving food on them. Instead, it felt like they completely overlooked it just to get the food out quickly. Cleanliness and proper plating should be one of their top priorities, especially coming from management.
We gave them a second chance by allowing them to recook and re-plate our food, but even after that, the quality still wasn’t great. And unfortunately, the final concern came after we finished eating and noticed the cook using his cell phone while still wearing his cooking gloves. That is extremely unsanitary and unacceptable for any kitchen environment.
Because of all of this, I will never visit this location again. I truly hope management takes these issues seriously, because cleanliness and food safety should never be overlooked.
