(A little context on how we got here)
We were looking for a steakhouse for dinner, but everything was about to close, and we were having a bit of a rough night due to a meltdown our son with autism was having. But then we found this place, my son calmed down, and he ordered the chicken tenders. He’s a very picky eater and doesn’t usually try new things, but that day he decided to try the BBQ ribs, and he loved them! So we 100% recommend this restaurant. We were all very happy with the food and the service from the waiters, especially a very friendly young man who spoke Spanish! We hope to return to Wisconsin soon and will definitely visit again.

I don’t usually take the time to write long reviews, but this experience at Famous Dave’s absolutely deserves it. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was warm, welcoming, and full of that classic BBQ comfort you expect — wood-paneled walls, that smoky smell in the air, and an atmosphere that just makes you hungry before you even sit down. But what really made this visit stand out wasn’t just the food — it was Brandon.
Brandon was hands down one of the best servers I’ve ever had anywhere. Not just at a BBQ place — anywhere. From the start, he greeted us with genuine energy and a smile that didn’t feel forced or scripted. He was polite, attentive, and just had that natural ability to make everyone at the table feel comfortable. You can tell when someone actually enjoys their job, and Brandon clearly does.
He made great recommendations without being pushy, checked in at the perfect times (not too much, not too little), and kept everything moving smoothly. Drinks were refilled before we even realized we needed them. Our food came out hot and fresh, and he made sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. It’s rare to find service that feels both professional and personal at the same time, but that’s exactly what he delivered.
Now let’s talk about the food — because it was amazing. I ordered the boneless wings, a pork sandwich, mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes. The boneless wings were crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and coated perfectly in sauce. Not soggy, not dry — just right. The pork sandwich was stacked high with juicy, flavorful meat that tasted slow-smoked to perfection. Every bite had that perfect balance of smoky, savory goodness.
The mac and cheese was rich and creamy without being too heavy. It had that classic comfort-food flavor that makes you want to keep going back for another bite. And the mashed potatoes? Smooth, buttery, and seasoned perfectly — exactly what you want alongside BBQ. Everything tasted fresh and made with care.
But honestly, what elevated the whole meal was Brandon. Great food is important, but great service makes you want to come back. Brandon turned a good dinner into a memorable experience. He treated us like more than just another table. He joked with us, made sure we had everything we needed, and kept the mood upbeat the entire time. You don’t forget service like that.
By the end of the meal, we were all saying the same thing — this place shouldn’t be called Famous Dave’s… it should be called Famous Brandon’s. That’s how much of an impact he made on our experience. If you’re going to this location, ask for Brandon. He sets the standard for what hospitality should be.
We’ll definitely be back — not just for the incredible BBQ, but to see Brandon again.

Ordered take out… Son got cheeseburger nothing spectacular but okay. Thought I was ordering the BBQ chicken baked potato with broccoli, bacon, sour cream, cheese, and butter. Got it with a side of cheese, and the chicken had little to no Barbecue sauce that was all. And it was cold, waited 10 minutes longer than supposed to. Which no big deal but should be hot then. Called and he said he personally made my order and I needed to order a loaded baked potato. Asked how much the one I ordered was? He said 8.99 I paid 16.99. Not worth arguing over but won’t be going back. Paid 36.99 for a cheeseburger, fries, and a baked potato with chicken…

We live in the Fox Valley but we don’t have a local Famous Dave’s so we make the trip to the location in Lake Delton to appease our cravings for ribs. The food was perfect and the service was awesome! Jean Pierre made us feel at home and went out of his way to take care of our needs. We will be back!!

The host, Austin was super nice and got us sat right away. JP was our server, he served us fast, he was nice, got us refills when we needed them. The cheese curds were amazing, even without sauce. The Texas Brisket burger was really food, the bread was a little soggy but with the sweet and zesty BBQ sauce, it was amazing. 10/10 would recommend.

Decor and cleanliness were fine the waitress introduced herself by saying do you know what you want? The food was delivered surprisingly fast! I had the ribs and brisket., with garlic mashed red potatoes and beans. The potatoes and beans were outstanding! The brisket was done fairly well, nothing to write home about but not bad.. the ribs however, were the worst I’ve ever had in my entire life!!! They started out with meatless bones and then overcook them!! The sauce on top was fine, but it won’t make up for bad ribs!!! I consider it a complete waste of money and time!!! I will never go back!

We went here for lunch and it was nice and quiet. Our food came out pretty quickly. I ordered the devil’s spit burger. My son ordered the pulled pork sandwich, and my husband ordered the 3 meat combo. The food was fine, nothing especially spectacular, but good. It’s a bit expensive for what you get, I think. The sauces are not anything out of the ordinary and the fries are pretty soft.

A wonderful BBQ family feeding trough. Massive portions of average to good food delivered by moderately attentive servers in a friendly and open setting. I recommend sitting downstairs if possible. We sat upstairs where it was noticeably darker and more stuffy than the downstairs area.
What can I say, if you’re hankering for BBQ and need to feed your family then this place won’t disappoint. It’s Olive Garden for BBQ.

I went here only because the good reviews about the server Brandon and I made sure to ask for him and he did not disappoint he was the most kind charming server I have ever had he needs a raise this man was so jolly and clearly loves his job I will be going back every time I’m around here just to see Brandon and he also gave me some amazing food and one of which he even cooked himself and it was amazing
