I refrained from saying this last night while we were eating but I spoke about it with my husband and decided to post it here. I would like to start off by saying the food was wonderful and our waitress was even better, I enjoyed how much she talked to her tables and even us, but what really made our stay uncomfortable was another waitress who was on the other side of the restaurant. Now I would like to state that I am in no position to say this but I don’t want to sit down and eat at a restaurant when I can hear other waitresses talk down and bad to each other. I’ve been eating here for years and never heard anything like that, our waitresses Leslie has been our waitress for about as long as we’ve been coming here, and I’ve never seen her treat anyone differently just because they are black. Which was what that other waitress was saying to her people. I wish I got her name on the way out so I could say it here but we just wanted to finish eating and leave. Since we’ve been coming here for years it sad to see how the management has been letting this go by, and we could tell because we could see it on the other workers faces that they too where uncomfortable with what she had said. I hope things get better because I wouldn’t want to have to stop coming if we’re going to be put in a situation where the whole restaurant is uncomfortable to eat or do their jobs. I will leave this off by saying it was the older black lady saying that “Leslie and (I guess they call him tank) tank are racist” and telling them “not to come back unless she is there, to ask for her and not Leslie.” We’ve been coming here for years and getting to know Leslie I know that those are lies because we’ve know her way before the other lady started. I am disappointed in how management was dealing with it and I hope they do something about that. But other than that and the situation we were in the middle of the stay was wonderful.

The waitress was really nice but the people in the restaurant were loud and obnoxious near us the entire time. Food was decent but not great. The chicken was dry and the butter pecan syrup tasted very chemical. My daughter loved the chocolate pancakes so we won there. I’d skip this place for a cracker barrel next time in Charleston.

Clean place, great service, tasty food and drinks. Dont be fooled by the pictures on their menu. The portions are pretty big once theybarrived to our table. We left there stuffed! Our waiter took care of us and everyone was friendly & treated us well. We will go back there again. Parking was good. Easy in and out. It was pretty chilly in there, though. Other then that, no complaints.

This place is an absolute joke. I stopped here a few times during my 30-minute break because there’s truck parking next door—big mistake. You’ll wait longer than your entire break just to be acknowledged, let alone fed.
The red-haired guy told me, “I’ll be with you in a minute.” That “minute” turned into 10+ minutes of standing there doing absolutely nothing. While I was still waiting just to place a to-go order, other guests walked in after me and were seated before I was even helped. At that point, I left.
I also tried calling my order in ahead of time—don’t waste your time. They never answer the phone, probably because half the staff is outside smoking cigarettes instead of doing their jobs.
Truck drivers don’t have time for this nonsense. This place clearly doesn’t respect people’s time.
If you’re on a schedule, keep driving—this place will cost you your break and your patience… NEVER AGAIN

I had a wonderful breakfast at IHope Restaurant today! The Eggs Benedict were perfectly poached, and the pancakes were light and fluffy, topped with fresh berries. The coffee was rich and aromatic, and the service was friendly and attentive. Overall, a fantastic way to start the day! Highly recommend!

Service 2/4/26. 3pm. Steak tips. Food cold as if in refrigerator. Steak sweet.like someone marinated in syrup. Took home n doctored. Did not bring two side pancakes that come with thst meal. I’m Ordered New York cheesecake pancakes. Pancakes cold too. Very disappointed. Always stopped here after doctors appointment and had great food n service. I think they were short staffed with only one cook. Seated by bathroom n kitchen. Staff loud n gossiping. I think someone stopped by just to talk. Laughing n joking around not my waitress she was hustling n working her but off. Didn’t easy drop. They weren’t being quiet. Just the opposite.

I’ve been to this IHOP several times, so thankfully I know what to expect. And that is… a long wait! Now, I’m a patient person so it doesn’t bother me that much, especially since I only saw one waitress working. But when I’m with other people… they sure do complain about it.
I tried out the new Lemon Blueberry Ricotta Crepes, and WOW! They were really delicious!
My partner and my mom both got a Breakfast Combo of some sort and everything came out fine for them. Their only complaint was, of course, the wait. I’d say we waited at least 30 – 40 minutes for out food.
But look, if you’re not in a rush, this is a good place to go in Kanawha City. The food always tastes good and it’s affordable.

Service sucked. Took 20 minutes to ask what we wanted to drink and 10 minutes to bring us that and take our order. Then almost an hour to bring us our food. This place wasn’t packed cause when we was leaving they told a couple that it would be 20 to 30 minutes before they would be seated. The atmosphere wasn’t the greatest. They only good thing I can say was the food was good.

This is Roadhouse, reporting in and evaluating the IHOP location in Kanawha City, West Virginia. We had a lovely and most hospitable visit at this location this evening. Our waitress was Leslie M. Who Hails from the lovely and great state of Texas, she is now A West Virginia mountaineer. Leslie was very accommodating, sincere, polite, and very knowledgeable about her job, she just provided a wonderful visit an experience for us. So, keep up the good work, Leslie, and keep marching to Victory. We look forward to future visits and we will most definitely ask for you. Also, happy birthday to you as well, this coming Sunday, September 28!!! Peace out, and always stay and remain classy, from Roadhouse, that big ass, country boy that hails from big Jackson County, West Virginia – Cottageville, West By God, Virginia

TERRIBLE!! Tell me how there can be one table of 2 in the restaurant a guy that’s been waiting for twenty minutes to order, a girl who’s been waiting twenty minutes for her door dash and me who’s food was supposed to be Carside Ready ToGo at 11:09 but it’s 11:45 and still no food. I pull in to Carside at 11:10, call multiple times with no answer. Come inside to be ignored 3 times so I have to intervene and ask about my order to which I get a dirty look and told that it’s still cooking. It was 11:28?? Why still cooking?? So 11:45 and I ask someone else and he has to have the guy remake it cuz he said it was too soggy like that was going to make things better. Also, all the workers were touching everything (registers, dirty dishes, FOOD) with bare hands and kept disappearing. Seriously close this place down. It’s a joke to represent IHOP. I would have left the second I got in if I hadn’t already paid. It’s an inexcusable waste of time and money that no one has to spare.
